Kara POV

Okay, can someone tell me what just happened? My best friend who I've known my whole entire life just told me she's a werewolf. I mean, how does that even make sense? These types of these aren't even real.  I mean, that would explain her obsession with the full moon, but still, no way is this real. I was still processing everything, when I hear Leah. "Kar, you okay?" "Yeah, I'm just processing things." In no way shape or form did I think she was telling the truth. "It's okay, take your time." "Okay, I have to come out with it, are you being serious right now? Is this some type of prank? Because not funny by the way, and there can literally be no way that you are a mythical creature, that only exists in the movies!!" I couldn't help myself. I'm the type of person to bottle up my feelings, but this was too much, and I knew that if I didn't let it all out now, I would blow up BIGGER later, and that would hurt Leah way more than I wanted it to. "Kara I need you to calm down right now okay? I know that this must all seem very shocking, but we have to get out of these woods, RIGHT NOW!" She whisper-screamed. "No! I'm not going anywhere, until you tell me what's going on! And what happened to you wanting to find Dawn hm? Still haven't found her, while we're out playing Dora the explorer out in the middle of FREAKING NOWHERE!" I screamed, becoming very frustrated. "Kara, you need to calm down, and lower your voice." "Don't tell me to lower my voice, free country remember?!" I yelled even louder, but soon regretted it when I saw two glowing red eyes in the bushes behind Leah. I saw Leah's eyes glow a bright golden amber. "What the-" "Not the time!" "What do you mean it's not the time?! Your eyes are friggin glowing, and you're telling me it's not the time-" "Kara!" "What?!" "I will tell you everything but right now you need to trust me." "Trust you?! Ha! You are VERY funny. You've kept this from me, our whole lives! How am I supposed to trust you anymore?" "Kara.." "Yes?" I said exhausted and wanting to go home. "RUN!" "What do you mean?" "Just what I said, RUN!" She ran past me urging me to follow her. I was almost tempted to go the other way when I heard growling. I am too young, too pretty, and waaayyy too un-experienced to die out here tonight. So, I did what everyone should do in horror movies when the killer approaches... Run like you're on fire. You know what they say, see one person running, you run...

Leah's POV

I soon regretted everything as I watched my best friend pace around, deep in thought. Was she going to be scared of me now? Does she not believe me about being a werewolf? If only I knew what she was thinking about... "Kar, you okay?" I asked with uncertainty and nervousness in my voice. "Yeah, I'm just processing things." I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. She seemed okay, and I didn't think that she was about to stab me with something silver. But, I did catch her scent. She seem frustrated, confused... betrayed. The nerves started to get to me once more as I thought this would be the end of our friendship. "It's okay, take your time." "Okay, I have to come out with it, are you being serious right now? Is this some type of prank? Because not funny by the way, and there can literally be no way that you are a mythical creature that only exists in the movies!!" At least she isn't freaked out or anything. Nice going Leah... As she was rambling on I started to smell a familiar scent coming from behind me. An all too familiar scent... "Kara I need you to calm down right now okay? I know that this must all seem very shocking, but we have to get out these woods, RIGHT NOW!" I whispered-screamed, urging to get out of these woods before something bad were to happen. "No! I'm not going anywhere, until you tell me what's going on! And what happened to you wanting to find Dawn hm? Still haven't found her, while we're out playing Dora the explorer out in the middle of FREAKING NOWHERE!" I flinched, Kara was never one to raise her voice, at me, at anyone really. "Kara, you need to calm down, lower your voice." I told her, not wanting the alpha hiding in the bushes to have a reason to come out. "Don't tell me to lower my voice, free country remember?!" At this point I just wanted to get Kara out of there before something bad happened.  Just as I heard the bushes behind me rustling, I saw Kara looking behind me. I immediately let my wolf take over, not too much, but just enough for my eyes to glow. "What the-" "Not the time!" I told her with urgency in my voice. "What do you mean it's not the time?! Your eyes are friggin glowing, and you're telling me it's not the time-" "Kara!" "What" "I will tell you everything, but right now you need to trust me." "Trust you?! Ha! You are VERY funny. You've kept this from me, our whole lives! How am I supposed to trust you anymore?" "Kara.." I said trying to shut her up so we can run. "Yes?" She sighed. It was now or never... "RUN!" I yelled already ready to get into action if needed. I noticed that she was hesitating, not even moving an inch. I looked back at the bushes, and nothing was there. The alpha had left, where, I had no idea. Another reason for Kara and I to get out of these woods... "What do you mean?" "Just what I said, RUN!" I began to run past her telling her to follow me. The moon was not at its peak, and I don't know if I'd be strong enough to defend the both of us against an alpha. Besides, I'm only a beta, and everyone knows an alpha is the strongest alpha there is. But the alpha that was in those bushes, is the worst of them all. This, was going to be a long, long, night...
