Thunderclap And Flash: Chapter 4

Narrator pov

Running through the night you followed the crow through the night as you were running as fast you could. It was around 12 as there were still people watching around the city, but there was significantly less and most looked like they were trying to get home as safely as they could. You knew there was a curfew but because you were a slayer you had no restriction on that.

Y/N: Where the hell is this thing! Maybe the crow was wrong, and I can just go home.

Crow: I'M NEVER WRONG! I'M NEVER WRONG!

Y/N: There's always a first time for everything, you know!

You made it to another street as you tensed up. You saw a dozen dead bodies of citizens as blood was drenched across the street. You felt like you were going to throw up but you held strong as you walked over to them. They looked torn to shreds as most of their bodies were either destroyed or were just gone entirely. You looked at one of the cars as there were huge deep claw marks into it and a dead body inside the car.

???: Help...

You heard a voice as you looked over to one of the broken cars. Underneath one of the cars was a man with a demon slayer uniform and a broken sword. You ran over to him as you pushed some of the car off of him and saw that both of his legs were gone and he was bleeding profusely from the chest.

Y/N: Holy shit! I'll get some help.

???: Did the crow... send you here?

Y/N: Yes... please don't talk.

???: Why haven't they sent a Pillar yet... we cannot kill these things...

Y/N: What demon did this?!

???: It was a lower moon...

Y/N:( Lower MOON! That's not possible! They said that a lower moon must be protecting this region, and it's here!?)

???: But... this one had the number 12 on his eye...

Y/N: Wait, there are only 6 lower moons! Just like there are only 6 Upper moons!

???: Whoever did this must have created more lower moons... I'm not surprised... more moons means more demon slayers to kill. With the influx of slayers this generation, they must have thought to cover more distance.

He was coughing up blood as you tried your best to cover up some of his wounds with his haori that was on the ground. You wanted so badly to cry, you wanted to scream and shout but it would do nothing.

???: Run... get out of here... my two other companions died to this monster as well...We just aren't strong enough to do anything... They just sent us to a suicide mission... But... I always knew that this was the way I would die... doing my best...

Y/N: I-I-I'm sorry...

???: Let my warning... at least save your life...That way I can feel a little better... dying....here.........

His voice faded as he closed his eyes and you could hear his heartbeat stopped completely. You took your hands off of him as you could feel your breath stop a bit. Your knees were shivering in fear and you felt yourself wanting to run away and hide. Why? Why did gramps give you such a job, you were nothing but a hindrance, it has always been like that.

Y/N:( I should go back... back to where I belong. Back to a hole where I can crawl into and sit there and be by myself.)

You heard a crash as you looked to see smoke rise a little further away. You were able to stand up and look towards the sight. You turned around and ran back away from the scene.
