A great stallion comes from a great father. Pride was his father he was brave and cunning. His herd grazed in the valley most of the year. He was the most respected stallion and has top priority over the other stallions and herds. Pride was chestnut with a flaxen main but had changed colour from palomino which was unusual. He was unique in his colour not a horse in the high country was the same colour as him. His lead mare Talia was pure black with a star. One night as a thunder storm slashed through the sky. Talia had a foal which one day would grow up to take his fathers place. They called him Warrior. As a foal he feared nothing and his mother new that one day the fact that he feared nothing would hurt him. So she raised him to know humans were a danger, when they came to the mountains he would run with his mother. Pride trained his son to know when danger was present, to know the smell and the noises of the men.
