The meeting came to an end, and Taehyung couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief as the tension in the room dissipated. The demonstration and presentation had gone smoothly, far better than he’d expected. CEO Kim’s assistant, Kim Taehyung, had shown a level of professionalism that even surprised CEO Kim herself. Despite his usual playful, childish demeanor, when it came to work, Taehyung was flawless.
As the foreign business partner, Louis, shook Taehyung’s hand, he praised him for his work. Taehyung accepted the handshake with his trademark professional smile, while CEO Kim observed the entire interaction with a quiet pride.
"Nice working with you, Miss Kim. I hope to meet you and Mr. Taehyung soon," Louis said, giving both of them a friendly nod before leaving the meeting room.
"Meet you soon, Mr. Louis," Taehyung said in return, his tone polite but warm. As soon as the hall emptied, only Jisoo, Mia, and Taehyung remained.
"Taehyungshi, you really impressed me today," Vice CEO Mia said, her voice filled with admiration. "I’m looking forward to your first project."
Taehyung smiled at the compliment, but his gaze lingered on Jisoo, who hadn’t said a word. She hadn’t smiled either, but he could feel her quiet approval. She didn’t say much, but that was typical of Jisoo. She was always like this—reserved, yet incredibly observant.
"Thank you," Taehyung responded humbly. He finished collecting his things, ready to head out, but Mia left first, giving him a final nod of approval.
As he began to gather his things to leave, he noticed that Jisoo hadn’t moved. She stood up, reaching for a pen that had fallen unnoticed onto the floor. "Yours," she said, holding it out to him. Taehyung nodded blankly, taking the pen from her and putting it back into his file. He slung his bag over his shoulder, ready to leave.
But just as he turned to go, Jisoo stopped him. "There’s a party tonight... You have to attend it. Take some rest and go home now."
Her words were soft, and for a moment, there was a hint of hesitation in her voice. Taehyung nodded, understanding that she wanted him to rest before the event. He appreciated the concern, even if she wasn’t always the most expressive.
As he moved toward the door, she called out again, stopping him in his tracks. "You did well today. I... I—we are really impressed," she said, her words a bit stuttered, but Taehyung caught them. Her praise, however subtle, was significant. He could see how much it meant to her.
Taehyung chuckled lightly, unable to resist teasing her a little. "Thank you, Jisooshi," he said with a smile, nodding once before walking out of the meeting room.
The hallways seemed a bit quieter as he walked back to his office, a wide smile on his face. He placed his file in his cabin and left for home. Tonight would be long, but he needed the rest to recharge. The party was waiting for him, but he wanted to be in top form when he arrived.
As he stepped out of the building, the cool evening air hit him, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. Everything was falling into place, and he couldn’t help but think that tonight might just be another step toward something even bigger.
