The days that followed continued to pile on the pressure for Taehyung. His workload was heavier than ever, with endless VR programming and the looming presentation. He could barely remember the last time he had a full night's sleep. Every minute felt stretched to its limits, and despite the exhaustion that weighed on him, he couldn't stop pushing himself.
His mind was racing as he tried to balance everything-finishing the VR analysis, sending it off to Jennie, and preparing the presentation for Jisoo. He had thought the worst was behind him when he completed the VR reports, but little did he know that the hardest part was just beginning.
One afternoon, as he was buried in his work, barely able to keep his eyes open, a voice called his name.
"Taehyungshi."
Startled, he looked up to see Jennie standing by his office door. He hadn't even noticed when she arrived. He rubbed his eyes, trying to shake off the fatigue.
"Jin oppa told me you're working on the presentation," Jennie said, her voice laced with understanding. Taehyung nodded, his eyes feeling heavy from lack of sleep.
"Yeah..." he mumbled, trying to focus, but his mind was still scattered. "Is there something you need, Jennieshi?"
Jennie hesitated for a moment before responding. "Actually... you haven't sent me the analysis report yet."
Taehyung blinked, feeling a wave of guilt wash over him. He had been so caught up with the presentation that he completely forgot to send the report. He quickly reached for it, his fingers fumbling slightly as he passed it over to her.
"Oh, I almost forgot..." Taehyung said, a sheepish smile pulling at his lips. Jennie returned the smile, sensing his exhaustion.
"It's alright," she replied. "I'll take it from here. You focus on your presentation." She walked out of his office, and before Taehyung could return to his work, he heard a familiar voice.
"Mr. Taehyung."
He turned to see Jisoo standing in the doorway. Her expression was as unreadable as ever, but there was something in her eyes-a flicker of something he couldn't quite place. Was it admiration? She was looking at him differently today.
"What happened, Jisooshi?" Taehyung asked, standing up from his desk, his curiosity piqued. Jisoo didn't immediately answer. She simply walked toward his desk, placing her phone down and pulling out a small USB drive.
Taehyung looked at the pendrive, his confusion deepening. "Does this have to do something with me?" he asked.
Jisoo nodded and spoke calmly, her tone firm but not without a hint of guilt. "I know you've been preparing for tomorrow's presentation, but you'll also have to demonstrate it. I'm sorry, but Mia had to leave for a meeting in China, and we need you to step in."
