“Are you just going to sit and drink away my coffee or are you going to get ready? You have school in an hour and you haven’t even started getting ready, we all know what you’re like, Gee.” Gerard Way’s mother stared at the dopy looking teenager, of which was drinking Her fresh warm coffee out of her “Best mum in the world” Mug him and his brother had bought her last mother’s day.
Gerard had been dreading school, Donna Way, the mother in question, knew that much at the least, this day was a yearly struggle both she, Gerard and Mikey had to face. The first day after summer, the day of which Gerard had to come out of his safe haven, his bedroom and go to school.
Gerard Way had been like this in kindergarten, when he first saw Frank Iero. Frank was always somebody who loved to be in control, Up until he was 12 he was always in that group of kids of which would hang around at the very top of the climbing frame, picking on and shouting abuse at whomever so much as got in their way.
Come High school, Nothing had changed, Though Gerard was older than Frank, it didn’t stop him from picking on whoever the hell he wanted and having complete and utter control over the whole school, victims of which being Gerard and his couple of friends, who he was lucky to have few classes with.
Donna Way had tried everything to get Gerard out of his shell, when nothing worked, she resorted to therapy, to try and suss his issues out.
Today, the woman knew was going to be an issue for the way family, Mikey, Gerard’s little brother, had previously slept around a friends, of which the older sibling had little enough trust to believe, was at Frank’s, purposely to get out of the possible temper tantrum that could follow Gerard having to come into school. The teenager had an hour to do his make up, do something productive with his unwashed hair, eat and get into school. Unlikely to be on time, as usual
“I just don’t see what the harm could be with letting me drop out- or better yet, homeschooling me- that would be great too.” Gerard spoke, sipping his mum’s coffee and running his hand through his matted hair.
“I don’t just see why this is a problem for you. School is a legal requirement and you need to actually participate to get somewhere in life Gerard. Get ready, and I might serve you favourite food for dinner tonight.”
Of course Gerard ended up walking to school in the pouring rain. Over thinking as usual, thinking that maybe It was just teenagers that scared the living shit out of him.
Lindsey and Ryan made awkward conversation, Elevator small talk almost, they had never had to actually speak to each other without Gerard, but since Alicia had moved school, and Chantall was on that exchange program, abandoning them with a short girl with red hair who was more into hanging around with Jeremy then them two, it was just the two of them.
“It’s um... meant to rain tomorrow... I heard it on the radio” The emo boy stated, in a pathetic attempt to start conversation
“oh, it is? I heard that too.... weird stuff, that rain and all”
“Hey- It’s Gee!” Lindsey said, trying to hold in the largest sigh of relief on her lips
The two walked towards their even more emo looking friends.
“Hey, cheer up, Frank hasn’t turned up yet” Lindsey smiled patting her friend on the back.
“I know- saw him leave- looks like somebody gave him a taste of his own medicine though, judging by the size of his black eye.”
“This is the same Frank Iero right? A black eye? Maybe he just found a new eye shadow technique-“ Lindsey said, obviously trying to peace Gerard’s story together
“No. It’s swollen as fuck.” Gerard snapped his head up, as did Lindsey and Ryan, though they really didn’t need to look up, because In front of them stood Frank Iero.
“-can I hang with you guys?”
