My Whole body stiffened at his words.

I could hear the room progressively become quieter as everyone's eyes darted at our direction. Except one.

My heart thrummed in my ear too overwhelmed by what I'd just heard. 'We're getting married'.

Those words spun around my head that I hadn't noticed by brother calling out my name.

"Lucia" he spoke out but I was too disgusted to answer.

"Lucia" he said again. And again.

Until finally my eyes met his.

Rage filling every part inside of me looking at his plain face, as if he wasn't the cause of this.

"Are you alright" he questioned resting in his chair, keeping a calm expression like always.
God, how much I wanted to punch that dumb look of his.

My nostrils flared in anger as I let out a response "fine" I lied whilst my chest heaved up and down "perfectly fine"

Donatello gave me one more glance before he returned to his conversation "as I was saying"

Taking long steps, I hurriedly made it to my brothers office.

The Ricci family had finally decided to leave after announcing they had extended their stay, which my brother kindly disagreed, and said their farewells.

I tried getting Donatello's attention but he quickly got up making his way to his office with Miguel following after.

The door slammed into the wall as I entered the room.

"Mind the door would you" my brother only mumbled.

An awkward pause trailed after that trying to steady my breathing.

"How could you" I barked at him.

Donatello's eyes slowly looked up " I don't know what you're talking about".

I couldn't help but scoff "you know exactly what I'm talking about Donatello".

"My agreement with the Ricci is something short that will blow over soon enough. It's nothing you should worry about".

"BUT IT IS" I yelled gritting my teeth "IF IT INVOLVES ME ITS MY BUSINESS. HOW DARE YOU SELL ME OFF LIKE SOME CATTLE"

"Lucia lower your voice"

"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO" screaming as loud as I could.

I couldn't take it anymore. He wasn't the brother I loved, he'd changed and I hated it, hated him for what he was doing.

Donatello wasn't thinking about anyone but himself like always. it was always for his benefit no one else's.

Donatello sighed as he stood up from his seat marching my way.

"You only have to put up with this for a while" he breathed. Both his hands coming up to my shoulder.

"So I can get kidnapped" I said going in for the blow.

He despised when someone mentioned what had happened to his wife all those years ago.

How it took him a year to find her, how he didn't know where she was or what was happening to her.

Constantly blaming himself for the events that took place.

His hands dropped to his side balling into a fist "Lucia watch what you say"

"But that's what's happening right. You'll agree, on my behalf, with the alliance and when shit doesn't go as planned something bad happens"

"Lucia"

"I thought you would have learnt your lesson, but clearly it needs to happen again to enter that big head of yours" i heaved trying to compose myself.

Taking one step back, I watched Donatello's expression grow in anger, how his face morphed into utter rage.

But I didn't care, he deserved to feel that way. Because what he was doing wasn't right nor fair on anyone's behalf.

"They're coming for dinner next week, I want you to act with the respect and dignity. I don't care if you agree or not, you are doing this until I say otherwise. Now get out"

"No I won't, you can't tell me what to do" stomping my feet in protest.

"Lucia" taking in a breath " I don't give a single fuck what you think, as long as you're under this roof I'm in charge and the only way you're getting out of it is when you get married. Now get out"

"I hate you" I trembled trying to hold back the tears lodged in my throat. "I will never forgive you for this, ever".

My legs turned to leave slamming the door behind me.

In an instant my eyes flooded with tears. I tried to stop them from falling but they needed to be let go.

I was tired, so tired of this life, of him.

Always acting like he's above others.

I remained plastered on the ground trying to find the will to get up, when sudden footsteps appeared to be coming my way.

Looking up I found two pairs of golden eyes stare in my reflection. It wasn't an intense stare nor was it loving ,of course, but it was the kind of stare you'd give someone if you were telling them some bad news.

He looked worried for some reason.

"Are you alright" I could hear Antonio lightly murmur but it wasn't enough for me to respond.

Getting up from the ground, I patted myself from the dirt that had stuck to my dress and decided to go to sleep, ignoring his presence, just as he does to me.

It was only fair after all.

Antonio's POV:

My hands uncontrollably scrunched to the side as Lucia left making her way to her room.

I couldn't bare to see her like this, as much as I wanted to hate her I didn't want to see the look of pain etched on her face ever again.

The way dinner had gone, I realised now that I wanted no man to look, talk or even touch her the way Lorenzo had done.

My legs had decided to make their way towards her room. I wasn't thinking when I stopped in front of her door waiting for the right time to enter.

But I shouldn't have made my way here, only to decide it was best to leave her alone.

And I did, deciding to make it back to my room locking myself inside like always.
