"Mommy, why haven't I ever met grandpa?" Rowen asked as he looked up at his mother with his young innocent eyes; he was only six at the time.
"Well love, your grandpa left when I was a young little girl, around your age actually. He was completely fine and was a man of respect. He worked from sunrise to sunset. Well that was until one day before he left. Nobody knows what happened to him but when he came back he had his shirt on backwards and no money in his pockets. The last thing he told me was 'if you ever have a son then let him know that his granddad loves his so but by the time that he's grown he should see that he knows, don't ever walk the train tracks alone'. Then he told me not to act up while grabbing his jacket and hat before he cracked up laughing and left." His mother replied sadly while running her hand through Rowen's short curly hair.
"He left? He said a message for me?!" Rowen gasped as he cuddled up to his mothers chest.
"Yep he did, I'm sure he would have loved you. You two would have gotten along very well, two trouble makers you would be." She said with a small smile, imagining what could have been if her father hadn't run away.
"Wow..." Rowen breathed out before looking up at his mother.
"Why did he run away mommy?" He asked with a small pout.
"I don't know baby, I don't know..." She replied sadly before they fell into a somber silence.

As the years went on Rowen's mother would always tell him story's about how he should never go to the train tracks alone but tried to hide the message to hope he would actually listen and not disobey the request.
Sadly, all her attempts would be proven to be useless once her once young boy turned into a rebellious teenager...

"Bye sweety, have fun! Love you!" Rowen's mother yelled as he began to walk outside of the house. He was on his way to his friends house and was going to have a sleepover.
Well, at least that's what his mother thought.
"Okay, bye! Love you too!" Rowen yelled back before shutting the door and beginning his walk to the old abandoned house on Hickery Road.
His friends had bet him one hundred dollars that he wouldn't be able to spend the full entire night there so he was going to prove them wrong and get his money.
Or so he thought.
Once he reached the old, seemingly falling apart building, he took a deep breath before walking inside.
"This place isn't too bad." Rowen thought aloud as he walked into the house, looking around.
There were cobwebs everywhere, broken and splintered wood all along the floors, a ton of graffiti over the walls, and a fully broken staircase that looked like it would completely colaps at the smallest gust of wind.
"Welp, might as well get comfortable." Rowen muttered before pulling out his sleeping bag and throwing it down onto the ground, instantly having a large wave of dust flow up from under it.
Rowen was sent into a coughing fit.
Once he calmed down however he pulled out his camera and started a new video.
"Alright guys, as you can see, I'm in the fucking haunted building. I'm going to get that money." Rowen told the camera sounding stubborn yet confident.
He then moved the camera away from himself but made sure it was still showing him in the screen before snuggling up in his sleeping bag and attempting to fall asleep.
