it was finally shay and i's anniversary, it's been one year since we started dating. but not since we first met. i could remember the days we spent together before we started dating, we were just kids when we fell in love.

flashback

"hey shay. i got you m&m's." i said with a big smile.

"thank you!" shay said, standing from her bed and grabbing the bag from my hands.

she dug into it, pulling out the m&m's.

she ripped open the bag and dumped some into her mouth, then she smiled at me.

my stomach felt all tingly and my eyes widened confusingly. she looked and me with an eyebrow raised.

"what's wrong?" she asked.

"i don't know." i said with a shrug.

present

we were now sitting on a rooftop, standing and looking up at the sky. shay and i's faces were inches away from each other, soon she kissed me slowly.

"your heart is all i own, shay rudolph."

i spun her around, her dress waving in the wind. we danced in the dark together, the stars being the only source of light.

she was between my arms, and we were listening to some taylor swift song that shay adored.

"let me take a picture of you!" i pleaded.

"no!! i look a mess."

"darling, you look perfect tonight." i whispered underneath my breath.

shay smiled at me.

shay and i shared the same dreams. to be happy and to be together. to be together forever, no matter where in the world we were.

she held my hand tight, and i spun her around again. we danced slowly together, barefoot on the turf grass beneath us.

"i don't deserve this." i said, shaking my head.

"what do you mean?" shay whispered.

"you look perfect shay." i whispered back, kissing her on the head.

"i have faith in what i see. now i know i have met an angel in person, and she looks perfect. i don't deserve this, she looks perfect tonight."
