babysitters-club season two had just been released on netflix and i was thinking of ideas to celebrate, one of them being a date.

"shay?" i asked from the doorway of her bedroom as she walked towards me.

"yea?" she questioned.

"wanna go out on a date?" i smiled.

"you know, to celebrate season two!" i exclaimed.

"y/n, i appreciate it, but it's not a big deal. you don't have to take me out on a date for that." shay said.

"but i think it's a big deal and we need to celebrate." i frowned.

"okay, fine. but a small date. like, going roller skating!" shay suggested.

"shay, i love you very much. but i cannot roller skate." i said, shaking my head.

"you said we needed to celebrate, you're not backing out now." shay chuckled.

"fine." i said, playfully rolling my eyes.

around 7 pm, we made it to the roller skating rink, just in time for the glow night they had. they would turn off the lights and everything glowed in the dark.

upon entering, shay and i received a bunch of glow sticks and i made one into a necklace for her, she made me a bracelet.

come on i said, gesturing towards the skate rental area.

once we rented our skates i attempted to put mine on.

"i'm sorry y/n, but i can't stand to see you struggle any longer." shay giggled, moving closer to me on the bench we sat on.

"you have to tie it like this." shay said, tying my skates for me.

"oh." i said, dumbfounded.

"it's okay, you'll get better at it one day." she said, patting my back.

soon enough we were skating in the rink, well, at least shay was skating in the rink.

i was currently on the ground, shay was skating away in front of me.

"shay! how dare you leave me." i said dramatically, holding my hands over my heart.

shay turned gracefully and made her way back to me.

"you can spin too?" i asked, my mouth wide open.

"yea! i used to roller skate all the time." shay said.

"you should go pro." i suggested.

"definitely." shay said sarcastically.

shay finally helped me up and grabbed my hand tightly.

"stay next to me." she whispered.

i nodded.

we skated together and i followed her rhythm.

all was good until she let go of my hand and i plummeted to the ground.

shay erupted into laughter, pointing at me.

"hey, that's not funny." i said, frowning.

"i'm so done with you, i'm actually leaving you on the floor this time." shay said teasingly, but this time, she actually skated away.

confidently, i got up and tried to skate, i tripped a couple times, but finally i was skating like a normal person. i finally reached shay and approached her quietly.

"boo!" i said from behind her.

"wah!" she said, before slipping and falling to the ground, causing me to slip and fall too, landing right next to her.

we both were cracking up now, shay's hand hitting the floor every now and then because of how hard she was laughing.

"hey, at least you made it over here." shay laughed.

"and at least you fell down." i said.
