Dedicated to awesomness. Sorry it took so long, but this was a really long chapter!! :P
The next couple of days, I figured out how I was going to play our next Capture the Flag game.
When I wasn't training, or teaching Percy Jackson Ancient Greek, I was in my room, planning. I had it all figured out by the morning of Capture the Flag, and was really proud of my work. I was sure we were going to win this game.
I was sitting on my desk beside my bed, thinking and working out all the flaws of the plan, driving the plan to perfection, when Malcolm opened the door. He walked over to his bed and searched for something in his bag.
"You finished breakfast early" He started.
"Just finishing off the plans" I replied, absentmindedly.
I heard him walk over to my desk. Malcolm is the only demigod that I allow to disturb me during thinking. I really dislike it when people stop my train of thought, because I often lose the ideas I had at that moment. As a daughter of Athena, I'm always thinking, so if someone stops one train of thought, another takes its place, and the rest is easily forgotten. "What are you planning to do this time?" Malcolm asked. He knows I always have a different plan for every Capture the Flag game. It's mandatory; otherwise others could detect our patterns and use them against us.
"I've made a temporary alliance with Hermes and Apollo" I started. "Half of the Apollo cabin will attack from the trees, while the other half attacks from behind. The Athena cabin will split their ranks into three, and one will attack from the front, the right, and the left. The Hermes cabin will split up in small groups, and Luke will tell them were to go from there, but they will breach the defence unnoticed, and go for the flag. The rest of the Hermes cabin is defending."
Malcolm nodded. "And... what about Percy Jackson?"
"He'll be defending the creek side on his own."
"On his own? He's new!"
I looked up at Malcolm sternly, "are you questioning my plans?"
Malcolm sighed. "This time- I think I am."
"I want him by the creek" I replied stubbornly.
"Annabeth, he only ust arrived. He's had no training."
"Exept the minatour, of course. And the fury. And Clarisse.
"I can't let you do this"
"Malcolm, you don't even know him. Why are you getting protective?"
"He'll be killed!"
"Then he can prove himself." I stood up, ending the argument. I wasn't finished making plans yet, but I could do that while I'm training, it always helps me clear my thoughts.
Just as I was about to exit the room, Malcolm called, "You think he's the one, don't you?"
"He'd better be"
At lunch I thought harder than ever. I really needed to know who Percy Jackson was. So far, I had figured out he is definitely no son of Athena or Apollo. His archery was poor and his thinking skills were a bit dull. He was no good at running either, but that didn't really mean anything to me. He wasn't a son or Ares either, since wrestling wasn't exactly a talent of his, and he didn't own a lot of muscle. I had heard somewhere that he was good at canoeing, which didn't help anything. He was no good at metal-work, or gardening, or vine plants. His personality told me that he wasn't a son of Aphrodite either, and a lack of missing belongings told me that he wasn't of Hermes.
