He wasn't a strong demon, but he was still annoying.
He was small in size, with certain half-ripped clothes. His black shoes looked so dirty that the dirt was visible to the naked eye. He looked like he was someone who wandered the alleys, and had no precise home. He had dark circles under his eyes and his hair was a total mess.
But his demeanor was very different from his physical appearance. A shy demon, someone who seemed happy when talking; he didn't seem to have perverted intentions with anyone. He appeared neutral and friendly, so much so, that he was talking to the princess as if he was a longtime client.
It seemed that he had been caught up in the idea of the princess.
At that moment, the demon was talking to Charlie regarding her idea of redemption. He was looking to go to heaven, and looked happy that he had come to the right place.
Charlie greeted him with an enormous joy. The demon followed her on the tour she gave him, he loved the way she expressed her project. Although it seemed funny at first glance, the demon seemed delighted that he could get to a better place, and Charlie gave him a big motivation. Seeing the princess was like seeing an angel to him. He had no malicious intent with her, something that on the one hand, was nothing to worry about.
But that reaction he had, however, annoyed a certain member of the staff.
While the two were talking, there were two pairs of eyes watching the demons talking. One with a look of surprise, the other with a look of wanting to murder someone.
"Man, who could have imagined that finally we have a decent client around here?"
Alastor and Husk were at the bar pouring themselves drinks of whiskey. Enjoying their break chatting like almost every day, without any problems or discrepancies. But that day, Alastor didn't seem in the mood to talk to his friend. First they started talking about certain things about how terrible the surface was, but Alastor was quickly distracted from the topic when he saw the demon strolling with Charlie. They were both sharing a smile, as if they were having a good time.
He hated it.
That's when Alastor turned his gaze to Husk, who was looking at him strangely.
"What?" Alastor asked.
"You want to do something, I can tell by that look on your face."
And he was right. Between that permanent smile he had, there was a feeling of wanting to murder someone. Husk wasn't wrong, he knew him well enough by now to know when Alastor felt hatred for someone.
With a glance, he told him to look in the direction where the princess and the little demon were standing. They were looking at some pictures in the dining room.
"What do you think of him?"
"I take it you are talking about the demon who is talking with Charlie?" Husk asked. Alastor just nodded after hearing his question. "Looks like he is stubborn, maybe a hard ass, and probably wants us to know he is a difficult client to deal with. Tough people like him, can hide behind a smile. I'm not bothered by that however. He seems normal in comparison to other demons I met here."
Husk clearly didn't have a good perspective on the man despite his first impression. Perhaps the distrust he had had with many people in his previous life caused him to see nothing positive in anyone but Charlie. That, or maybe the drink had been too much for him that night.
"Guy doesn't have any respect for the ladies." said Alastor with an anger voice, while trying to hold his fury.
"What do you mean? He is not laughing at Charlie's plan, and that's something."
