Alchemist Cookie had gone into the kingdom to run some errands. While she was out, she crossed by the Juice Bar, where she was quickly spotted by Sparkling Cookie.

"Alchemist Cookie! Is Vampire alright? I haven't seen him in days."

"He's... fine. He's just been home."

"What's going on with him? I wouldn't mind if he's trying to get off alcohol but he hasn't spoken to me or the others. Anything happen that night? After he got home from the bar?"

Oh something definitely did happen.

Alchemist got anxious. She couldn't tell him Vampire had Licorice Cookie over at their mansion! What if someone heard? What if he told people? How could she even begin to explain the situation? She barely understood it herself. She saw the mess they'd made in the kitchen and she knew Licorice left but that's it. She didn't understand the shift in Vampire's demeanor. She didn't even know why Vampire was with Licorice to begin with. She had barely analyzed the situation in the moment and was only now realizing how much didn't make sense.

There was a long pause after Sparkling's array of questions. He took note of Alchemist's inability to reply. So, if he was going to get any answers, they would have to come from the source.

"May I go see him?" he asked.

The two reached the Mansion. Alchemist gave Sparkling the directions to Vampire's bedroom and left to continue her alchemy.

Sparking swerved through the gothic hallways, all dimly lit by candles. Eventually, he reached the door to Vampire. He knocked.

"Vampire? Are you in there?" he called out.

"Sparkling?"

There was sounds of shifting and movement and then the door opened. Vampire stood there, he looked awful. His hair was messier than usual, his face was pale, and his eyes were swollen and red. He hunched down, looking as if it where taking up all his energy to simply stand up.

Sparkling sighed. "What happened?"

"... what do you mean?" Despite his question, Vampire knew what he meant.

"Vampire it's been days. You haven't came by the bar or even the kingdom. What's the matter? You can tell me!"

He could. He really could. Sparkling Cookie already knew every bit of Vampire's past. He was the only one who did. He was the only one Vampire could confide in. So he did. Vampire gave in and sat Sparkling through the entirety of Licorice's stay at the Mansion. As Vampire recalled everything, Sparkling sat, listening to it all, with a neutral expression the entire time. Once Vampire finished, he starred at Sparkling, waiting for a response. Sparkling simply sighed and shook his head.

"I don't know how to help you but I do know locking yourself in here isn't doing any good."

"I can't bring myself to do anything else..."

"Well," Sparkling pulled a piece of golden paper out his pocket and placed it between the two of them. "You could start by supporting your friend."

Vampire reached out his had to examine the paper. It was a ticket to a performance by Mint Choco in the kingdom's Concert Hall.

"He reserved seats for us, it would mean a lot to him if you showed up." Sparkling continued.

Vampire starred at the ticket.

"I'll see if I can make it..."
