" So, is Prosecutor Pendelton your boyfriend? " Habang nagtatalo kami patungkol sa endearment na naisip niya ay ibinalik niya ang tanong na kaninang hapon niya pa itinanong sa akin.

" Really? " I asked out of disbelief. He just raised his right thick brow at me. " I do not even know who you are pertaining to, "

I then added.

" Really? " It is his chance to utter the same word now. However he is full of sarcasm, " babe, " he reminded, and I gaped my mouth out of realization.

" Oh, that was his name? Right, I think he mentioned that- but is he really a prosecutor? "

" Is he really your boyfriend? " Now, the person in front of me is also confused.

" You were just creating assumptions, " I smirked.

" Well, you called him babe, " he said in a matter of fact tone after drinking everything in his cup.

" It was just for fun! I did not even know the guy, " I giggled.

" What? " Supladong aniya.

" Ano ang kinalaman nito sa pinag-uusapan natin? " I stopped the urge to laugh more para naman may patunguhan itong mga salitang lumalabas sa mga bibig namin.

" You called him babe as if it was nothing and I cannot call you hon? " Kunot-noong tanong niya, ngumisi ako nang dahil doon.

" You're mushy, " I teased him at tila na offend naman siya sa sinabi ko.

" Ang sabihin mo kinikilig ka lang. "

" Huh? " Napaayos ako ng upo dahil sa iwinika niya.

" Huh? " He mocked ngunit hindi ko na siya pinansin pa dahil papunta na naman ang babaeng kausap niya kanina sa counter.

She seemed to change her mood. I can see that she is confused, her eyes hold solitude but also bloodshot. Hmm... Something must have happened outside.

Our table does not have crumbs or anything that might give the ones who will clean it a hard time kaya hindi na ako nagabala pang linisin iyon. I walked straight towards the counter to pay because I already noticed a newly placed box of cake there, most probably ours dahil kami lang naman ang customer dito. I smiled to the same woman who asked for our orders earlier. She is now behind the counter and is about to click a bell button maybe to get her employee or our attention for the order pero hindi na rin naman niya naituloy sapagkat nasa harap niya na ako.

" I am so sorry for the delay and for the wrong serving, ma'am, sir, something just happened in our kitchen, " she immediately said in a lowly yet calm voice.

My smile did not vanish, " it is just fine, but what wrong serving? " I still asked.

" The supposed to be take out po, but no worries, it's in the house, " nakayuko parin ang babae and I find it uncomfortable.

" Uh no, I will pay for it, we enjoyed your services after all, " isinawika ko iyon ng may pag-iingat at paniniguradong hindi ako nagmukhang mapagmalaki. The woman made a soft curve on her lips.

" I should be the one paying, " as if the devil himself whispered on my left ear, causing goosebumps. I looked at Juno Bautista with a deathly glare, unbeknownst to our distance from each other. Our faces became just inches away, noses almost touching, the same as our lips. His forest-like eyes look so effortlessly beautiful and menacing.
