A New Start

Prologue

"So she really did go through with it. She gave up everything, her memories and connections with everyone...she gave up her own wish of being able to see them all in the human world and live together smiling...just so that they could all go there and be safe. Hmph. This has been an entertaining thousand years." The strange child-sized god-like demon was smirking slightly behind his mask as he looked at the small blob in front of him. Emma had done it. Her mind was now as pure clean and white as freshly fallen untouched snow in the human world.

He was slightly impressed with the girl. She got farther than anyone else had in a thousand years and while at a younger age to boot. While she had her own regrets and things she wished she had done better and differently…she was still determined and reckless almost in her pursuit of a brighter future for her family. Still a rather pure soul, certainly a lot purer than the last human he made a promise with.

She had kept up her end of the deal, and therefore he had kept up his own end. Oh he knew her family wasn't going to let her go so easily. He knew that they were searching for their missing 'sister' at this very moment and would not give up until they found her two years from now.

That was fine. He had already gotten his entertainment…but…that did leave him in the position of being possibly bored for quite a while unless something drastic happened.

If there was one thing that he didn't like to be in this never changing plane…it was bored. That's why he had enjoyed the rebellion of the 'cattle children' so very much. It had been the most entertainment he's had in the last thousand years! But now it was ending. They were gone safely into the human world and even their search would only entertain him so much, although he did have to admit that the reactions of the teachers for the Grace Field children and especially Norman and Ray were rather hilarious. But it wouldn't keep him entertained for more than an hour at least, a week at most and then he would be bored again.

"I wonder though...this doesn't have to be the end of my entertainment." The small demon was talking to himself but it was alright, there was none here to hear him nor judge him nor would anyone ever be. After all he was on a different plane of existence that very few knew of much less could actually get to. Even if they could get there and hear him however none would say anything, after all he was the god of Demons. The one who split the world in two. He was the one who had powers beyond any imagination.

That would help him get his entertainment. After all the premium quality boy Ray, oh he would have been a delight to eat, who was the son of a premium quality girl that he had taken an interest in so long ago had given him a very nifty tidbit of information when he had been watching over them all. It was hard not to when he saw and heard all and the boy in particular was most entertaining, the way he made that deal with his mother. The way he's been planning and scheming and gathering supplies for six years and his guilt was oh so delicious and entertaining to the tiny immortal.

"Infantile amnesia...such a curious things in humans, forgetting the first few years where they learn most of their basic knowledge like walking and talking and thinking...and yet they still retain the knowledge without having to remember how they learned. I have her mind here, her memories and everything...so how about I send it back? How about...a fresh start for the brave young foolishly optimistic girl? See what she can do if forewarned...if she had more time to plan and train. Yes that should be very fun to watch indeed." The tiny demon laughed then, more entertainment and from the same source! Not just that but a different entertainment all together! After all with such an advantage on her side things would definitely go differently the second time around!

Her body had already been amazing for the limited training she had been able to do in the plantation without even trying. So if she went back and knew to train…trained herself even more! If she trained her body past the brink of regular human standards, to the standards of those Lamba experiments…no if she trained her body and it could go even beyond those standards! Oh yes. Such wonderful entertainment to be had!

If the girl did come back, and he was sure she would. How could she stay away if she wanted to go to the human world with everyone after all? If she did come back then he would probably be in a kind enough mood to grant her request and uphold his part of the promise without even asking anything in return! After all she already paid the price willingly and without hesitation once before, she'd do it again no problem! Not just that but she was also giving him free entertainment! How entertaining she was going to be would definitely impact how good of a mood he was in when she returned to visit him.

Not to mention the fact that it'd be so very fun watching her try to save everyone this time around! Would she start with little Connie who started it all? Perhaps she'd be able to save that child Theo's family in the hunting grounds that went against the deal from so long ago? Perhaps she'd even save Lucas and Yuugo? Or maybe those other children who died in the struggle…

She would definitely try to at least save the woman she had called 'Mom' right up until the very end.

"But it'd be no fun if she knew everything ahead of time and there were no surprises for her...I think I can arrange a few things to be different and yet the same...Yes...this shall be most fun indeed." The small god laughed as he collected the blob that was Emma's mind and began to use his powers. Time to send her back. Time to go back to the very start, no it was time to go back before the start and change things. Yes...

Yes! It was time for even more entertainment to begin!
