Disclaimer: I own nothing T-T

Ardeth, Rick, and Katherine were carefully making their way through the museum as the storm receded outside. The rain had stopped, but the thunder and lightning continued to rage on. The three of them looked around cautiously as the faint sound of chanting could be heard from below them.

They passed by several coffins and displays that held mummified bodies "Creepy..." Katherine muttered as she passed by an open casket.

Suddenly, the mummies sprang to life, startling them as Katherine screamed and jumped back. Rick and Ardeth had their guns aimed at it, but then the mummy in the case behind them came to life and slammed against the glass case, causing Rick and Ardeth to jump away as Katherine held her rifle close to her.

"Good God..." Katherine gasped "This whole place is coming to life"

The two men nodded in agreement "We must move quickly" Ardeth said as they made their way past the glass cases and toward the basement.

Once they made it to the basement, the three of them were just in time to witness Imhotep be resurrected as he broke out of the amber casing he was imprisoned in. Katherine let out a shaky breath at the sight of the mummy priest and swallowed hard as she looked over at her husband who gently took her hand in his and gave it a comforting squeeze.

"What year is it?" Imhotep demanded as he looked around his surroundings frantically.

Mr. Hafez stood up "My lord, it is the year of the scorpion"

"Truly?!"

"Yes!"

The sound of footsteps approaching caught everyone's attention. A beautiful woman with long black straight hair was seen entering the room and when she came into view, Katherine felt a familiar feeling wash over her. She was experiencing her visions again, something she hasn't experienced for the past few years. Instead of seeing the woman who walked in, she saw Anck-Sa-Namun, who was a spitting image of the woman.

Katherine gasped when she came out of the vision "Ardeth, I know where I've seen that woman before"

"You do? Where?" Ardeth asked, looking at his wife.

"She's Anck-Sa-Namun, or at least she was in a past life" Katherine answered him.

Ardeth nodded in understanding "That explains how she knows so much about the creature"

Katherine nodded in agreement as they looked back down at the group when Rick spoke up.

"You know, a couple of years ago, this would've seemed strange to me" Rick patted Ardeth on the back as he walked by him and Katherine.

"I have a gift for you," Meela told her undead lover.

"Her!" Imhotep growled when he saw Evy who was now shaking with fear.

"I knew it would please you to watch her die," Meela said with a smile as she snapped her fingers and four men lifted the platform she was on and began to carry her away. Evy tried kicking at her captors, but the ropes on her ankles made that very difficult to do.

Katherine's eyes widened when she saw them carry Evy over to a fire pit "Oh, my God..." both she and Evy said at the same time, obviously horrified.

"The underworld awaits you!" Imhotep said with a smile.

"You wait!" Evy shouted at him "I'll put you in your grave again!"

"Our thinking was not if we put you in your grave first" Mr. Hafez smirked.

"Burn her!" Imhotep shouted.

"Burn her!" Meela commanded.

"You bast...!" Evy shouted as she was about to be thrown in, but at the last second, Rick jumped over the flames and grabbed Evy "Rick!"

"Took him long enough" Katherine chuckled as she and Ardeth began firing their weapons at the cultists.

Mr. Hafez ran for cover while Lock-Nah tossed a machine gun to Meela who began to fire up at Ardeth and Katherine who both ducked away. Ardeth hid behind a large box as he reloaded and Katherine hid behind the pillar as she loaded another round into her rifle. While she was busy doing that, a bullet managed to graze her right arm. Katherine cried out in pain as she held her arm and dropped her gun.

"Katherine!" Ardeth yelled after he finished reloading his gun and he carefully ran over to his wife, "Are you alright, my love?" he placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm ok," Katherine groaned as she removed her hand to see the wound "It's just a graze" she then saw Rick and Evy make their way back up to them.

"Kathy!" Evy ran up and hugged her best friend and Katherine returned the hug with a groan,  causing Evy separate from her quickly, "Are you ok?" she asked with concern.

"I'll live, it's just a graze" Katherine dismissed her concerns.

Their attention was then brought back down to where everyone was to hear Imhotep chanting while holding a large Urn. Suddenly the royal mummy guards were summoned from the sand from when they came.

"Oh, no not these guys again!" Rick groaned as they all ran back upstairs, but heard Imhotep shout.

"DESTROY THEM!" Along with the mummies echoing roars.

The heroes made it back to the upper floor of the museum and ran out the front door before Evy stopped and started dragging a bench over to the front door to block it.

"Honey, what you doing?" Rick asked as he ran over to her and grabbed her hand, "These guys don't use doors," they then ran off to catch up with Katherine and Ardeth. When Rick's car came into view, Jonathan and Alex were nowhere to be seen, "Where the hell's Jonathan?"

Suddenly, a red double-decker bus came into view with Jonathan driving and Alex right next to him before they pulled over. The four of them stopped in their tracks at the sight of the bus, but Evy ran inside the bus when she saw Alex. Ardeth stood there in shock for a moment before he and Katherine ran inside the bus as well.

"What's the matter with my car?" Rick asked his brother-in-law.

"I was forced to find an alternative means of transportation" Jonathan answered him as Evy hugged her son from behind.

"A double-decker bus?!" Rick asked, annoyed and angry.

"It was his idea!" Jonathan pointed at Alex.

"Was not!" Alex protested.

"Was, too!"

"Just drive!" Rick yelled as he boarded the bus.

"Was not!"

Jonathan then took off down the street just as the mummy guards busted through the walls and chased after the large vehicle while also crushing Rick's car.

"No, no! Not my car..." Rick groaned.

"Oh, I hate mummies," Rick said as he, Ardeth, and Katherine watched as the mummies began to peruse them.

"Likewise," Katherine said with a groan.

"Glad to see me now?" Ardeth asked Rick.

"Just like old times, huh?" Rick said with a smile as he readied his shotgun and headed up to the upper level of the bus.

Bus fight will be in the next chapter :)
