Her earpiece buzzed continuously, falling static after beeping for the umpteenth time.
"Ritsu, any news on his whereabouts?"
"No, ma'am," her robotic voice floated through, the A.I. saluting, "I've checked the security cameras, the coast is clear."
"Got it," she muttered, eying the building below her, "keep an eye out for him."
"Copy that."
"Can't you kill him yourself? You're the head of Hassaikai, aren't you?" she raised a brow, sighing as she leaned back on the couch, "I don't understand why I have t-"
"Because I don't like getting my hands dirty," he snapped impatiently, narrowing his eyes at her, folding his arms, "you may be the highest-ranked Villain in Japan, but here, I'm the boss. You follow my orders."
"Honestly... making me do all the dirty work," she sighed, racking her rifle as she loaded bullets in, fishing inside her cloak and coming out with a grenade. She bit the fuse, tearing it off and tossing it into the room, barely flinching as the grenade exploded in the room behind her, frowning as she gazed around the corner.
"Ritsu, anyone left?"
"Coast is clear!"
"Roger," she muttered, slinking out from the corner and shooting some strays, letting out a small 'tch' as they fell on the ground, ignoring the shouts that echoed through the corridor, "all of them, thinking they can fight me..."
She narrowed her eyes dangerously, watching as they suddenly dropped their weapons, their hands wrapping around their throats as they gasped for air. She sighed, crouching in front of one of the men who gazed up at her in fear.
"Hyperventilating isn't going to do anything, you know..." she racked her pistol quietly, pointing it against his head, "do you want me to do you a favour and end your suffering?"
"Please..."
He fell to the floor.
She scowled, sighing as she stood.
"And I assume you're the leader of this organisation?"
He remained silent as she clicked her tongue.
"Not saying anything, huh?"
She connected her fist with his chin, the man flying out of his seat and crashing into a pile of boxes, the girl making her way towards the dazed man, watching poker-faced as he sat up unsteadily, pointing a gun in her direction. The girl sighed, altering the trajectory as she tilted her head, scowling as the bullet grazed her hair. His hands fell slightly as he noted the trajectory change.
She cocked her pistol, pointing it at his head before kicking his gut, sending the man flying back. He spluttered, coughing as the girl stared him down.
"Any last words?"
"Who..." he coughed, "who are you?"
She smiled.
"Have you heard of the Shie Hassaikai?"
The fear was evident on his face.
"N-no..."
"You should know better than to trespass. Now... do me a favour, and die."
A gunshot echoed through the room.
