After the formation of the Outcasts, break time was over for Guren and Shizuka, and it was also time for Miu and Hitomi to return home. Before the half-sisters left, Guren asked for the three disabled members for their phone numbers, so she could send them a recording of a few original songs she had written for the band. To say they were shocked would be an understatement when they heard that, for they did not form the band for that long- heck, Kohaku just joined the band, and they just got the name of their band- and yet, their keyboardist already wrote up not one, but two songs for them.
Surprising as it was, though, as it would turn out, Guren had actually written some music long before she even entered high school, though even that came as a surprise for them. And out of the many music she had the time to go through, she came across a couple that she felt would be fitting as the first original song for their band; she only needed their opinion to help choose out a song to play and rearrange the music in their respective instruments.
"So I say but... I don't know at all how the other instruments should be played for this..." Guren sighed.
The trouble-prone teen was at the cafe with Shizuka and Kohaku, sitting at one of the tables as she taste test the mute's snack ideas with the deaf, as they listened to one of the songs Guren had sent in their group chat, just loud enough for Kohaku to listen to without any feedbacks from her hearing aids.
"Huh? And yet you offered to help rearrange the song to their respective instrument?" Kohaku questioned.
"I mean, these are the songs that I wrote. I figured I can at least go by the ear and figure it out from there. Though thinking about it now... I would have to be some genius to do that. I am a musician, but my strong suit is in piano or keyboard. All other instruments..."
"Well, you clearly dug your own grave there." Guren sent a light glare at those words, as Kohaku finished an egg custard. "Mmm. Shizuka-chan, you should start your own cafe. These treats are really good."
The mute only smiled in response to the compliment, before writing on her sketchbook, "I can't count how many times someone told me that."
"And for a good reason! These really are good. And they're going to be for the event?"
"To sell and for the party after," Guren answered that time. "I'm sure everyone will love these."
Shizuka was not used to the compliments and blushed in embarrassment, before turning a page in her book and wrote more on it. "I like this song."
At the change of subject, the two taste testers turned their attention back to Guren's phone.
"Yeah, I gotta admit. This is a nice song. Guess you need help with lyrics, too?" Kohaku asked.
"I write music, but lyrics are another story entirely," Guren confirmed.
The deaf smirked at the response given. "All right. I guess I'll do them."
Those words made her two bandmates turn to her wide-eyes, much to her confusion.
"... What?"
"You can write lyrics?" Guren asked.
Kohaku raised a brow at those words. "Okay. I know I am deaf, and I know I dance a lot, but back when I was in my group, we were practically required to write our own original songs to dance to for solo lives. That being said, I have written plenty of lyrics before I turned deaf."
"No, I wasn't doubting you for that," Guren corrected, to Kohaku's confusion.
"Hm? Then why doubt me?"
The keyboardist slowly veered her eyes away from the vocalist at the question, as a memory popped up in her head. One involving a certain adult who always passes off any and all forms of paperwork to his right hand.
