(By the way, this chapter is written in first person, from the reader's POV!)

A friendly rivalry had started between me and the Cackling Canoneer during my assistance gathering resources. I'm a golden wasteland spirit who often helps out the spirits from the seasons in my realm. I often brought them sufficient supplies such as food, or fresh water. Honestly, I worried for many of the spirits in the wasteland. The harsh conditions, the deadly creatures, everything. Even though I live here 24/7, I still worry about the others. But, back to the current moment. I had recently beat Cannoneer in the race to gather resources, and now Commodore had called us all back to the boat where we all held meetings.

"Alright, so it seems like everyone is he- Wait, where's Cannoneer?" He observed all of us, waiting for our responses. None of us knew where he was. Angler and Boatswain shrugged, and Miss Abyss glanced around. I walked to one side of the boat and noticed a smaller boat in the distance floating near a tower close to one of the islands in Treasure Reef.

"Everyone, look!" I called out. The group looked in the direction I pointed in and noticed the boat as well.

"Oh no-"

"He didn't-"

"He wouldn't, Boatswain, and I'm sure that he's just somewhere around the reef Angler." Commodore attempted to smother our worries with those words. "I believe we should look around the reef for him." We all nodded in agreement. Angler and Boatswain dased off towards the direction of the shooting range, and Miss Abyss headed off towards another one of the towers that were scattered around the reef. I stared at the boat floating in the waster, then looked at the spare oxygen mask lying on the shelf. "(Y/N)..." Commodore warned.

"Listen, we need to check underwater too-"

"No (Y/N), it's too dangerous!"

"Cannoneer could be anywhere, and he could be under-"

"I said no! You're not going under!" Commodore shouted. It slightly echoed around the reef. I huffed and walked away.

'I'll go under later when everyone's asleep.'

The rest of the day I was growing increasingly worried. One by one, everyone returned with no news of success. Commodore sighed.

"Should we keep searching sir?" Angler mumbled. All that was given in response was another sigh. Everyone just stood around.

"We'll sleep on it," Commodore's voice trembled. Everyone responded with their own gestures of affirmation. We all went back to the temporary campsite we had set up multiple days before. I sat in my tent, restless. When I saw the last lantern go out through the door of my tent, I stood up. My feet hardly made any sound as I walked across the sand. I reached the larger boat and padded across the ladder leading to it. I grasped the oxygen mask and attached it to my face. I removed my shoes and cloak. All I was wearing now was my lightweight shirt and shorts. I slid into the water towards the small boat. When I finally reached the boat, I observed that there was a line going into the water. I took a deep breath and dove down into the unknown depths below.
