I wasn't expecting this book to gain as many views as it has, thanks for that! This oneshot is yet another platonic oneshot, with the elder and reader's relationship being like a parent-child relationship (Been on a roll with platonic oneshots, I'll try to come up with a more romantic one soon haha xD). I personally think Tsadi would be very paternal towards people he's close to :D

Tsadi uses He/Him

Reader uses They/Them

The sound of clanking filled the silence of the Elder's temple. There were a few newer soldiers watching the spar that erupted in front of them. (Y/N)- who was practically the Wasteland elder's child - was sparing with one of the rookies. Long story short, the rookie was barely able to keep up with (Y/N)'s speed and maneuvers.

"You have more to learn, but that isn't much of a problem," They held out their hand to the rookie, and helped them stand. Said rookie brushed themself off and bowed at (Y/N) before joining their friends. (Y/N) sighed. They only had one more new recruit to test, but they were drained. They took a breather for a minute and gestured the rookie over to them to spar.

The match went fairly similar to the other sparring matches; the newbie lagging behind in skill, and (Y/N) ending up winning. However this match the newbie had almost won against (Y/N). After the match, they retreated to their quarters that were set up in the temple. They began their nightly routine, only to be interrupted by a knock on their door.

Tsadi stood in their doorway, a concerned look showing in his eyes. "May I enter?" (Y/n) nodded, and gestured him in. The curtain covering the door flew behind him as he entered. Tsadi removed his mask. "(Y/N), I'm worried about you... You've appeared much more sleep-deprived, and a lot less determined in our training sessions. Is training and testing the new recruits draining you?" They shook their head and removed the armor covering their body. "Are you sure?"

(Y/N) halted their massage of sore muscles and looked up at Tsadi. "Yeah, I'm sure. You don't need to worry about me." Tsadi opened his mouth to say something but shut it. He simply sighed instead and returned the mask to his face.

"Well, if you need anything, know you can always come to me." He placed his hand on their shoulder. They were able to tell he smiled at them with his eyes. He exited the quarters, and (Y/N) returned to massaging their sore muscles.

The next morning, they woke to pain, and the sound of trainees clambering into the temple. Panic struck them as they flung themself out of their bed. They quickly shoved on their uniform. They were about to put the left boot onto their right foot when they heard Tsadi's voice outside.

"Do not worry about your current instructor, they are simply taking a break. Today, I will be your instructor." (Y/N) sighed in relief and stretched their aching limbs. Many cracks sounded off as they stretched.

"Oh, that can't be good..." They shrugged off the sounds and left their room (Placing the correct boots on the correct feet this time) to go retrieve breakfast if there was any left. The rest of the day went by in a blur, until around sunset. (Y/N) waled into the center of the temple, in full armor and carrying a spear and shield. Tsadi walked out of his quarters and over to (Y/N).

"I'm ready for our training session si-"

"We won't be training tonight. Or the next night, or the next. You need rest, (Y/N)."

"What?! No I don't! I'm completely fine."

"You've been overworking yourself recently, I've seen you doing it. Just the other day, during your testing of the trainees, you nearly passed out fighting the last one! You need a break."

"I'm fine Tsadi! I'm not overworking myself, and I don't need a break!"

"As your superior, I order you to take the next seven days off, from any extensive action."

"But-"

"No buts! You need rest, and if I have to order you to rest then I will do so!" After that statement, (Y/N) stayed silent. They simply nodded and walked back to the armory. They placed their weapons there and walked to their quarters. Tsadi had stayed to watch them and make sure they followed his orders of rest. He went to his own quarters and followed his nightly routine.

The next seven days were spent by you resting, and Tsadi working as the general of the army and training new recruits. He soon had to take his own breaks and he assigned someone to the permanent position of training new recruits. Tsadi and (Y/N) continued to make sure the other wasn't overworking themself, and that they were content. The two went back to their dynamic of parent and child, instead of general and soldier.                                                                                                 _______________________________________________________________________________Ack I didn't know how to end it off (It's 12:16 A.M. as of the time of typing this hhhhh) but it turned out good in my opinion! Again, thank you for the many views! Stay safe everyone!
