Sorry for my lack of updates! The writer's block really hit me hard and I still am experiencing some at the current moment. But, take this short platonic oneshot between Lamed and you!

Lamed (in this oneshot) uses She/Her pronouns.

The reader uses They/Them.                                                                                                                                            ________________________________________________________________________________

(Written in third person POV)

The silence of the Vault unnerved (Y/n). The slightest of sound, whether it be a light footstep or the dropping of a book, threw (Y/n) into their fight-or-flight response. Eventually, they were fed up with the silence of the first level of the Vault and took the elevator to the fourth. Here, it was much more peaceful. The gentle sound of running water and the mantas soothed them. They sat on a bench they had made their way to and closed their eyes. They hummed to themself a gentle lullaby and laid down on the bench. They fell asleep, for the first time in a while.

Moments later, they were awoken by gentle shaking.

"Are you alright, little one?" They struggled to focus their eyes on whoever was speaking to them. They sat up and rubbed their eyes. Looking toward the speaker, they tensed up. They stood up, to full attention.

"Calm yourself, you do not need to use such formalities around me," the Vault elder stated. (Y/n) only relaxed their shoulders. "Were you experiencing a night terror?" Genuine concern echoed in her voice. (Y/n) shook their head no. Lamed sighed and gestured for (Y/N) to follow. The two made their way to the elevator, and to the top level of the Vault. "Do you need to return to the Wasteland, young one?" (Y/n) simply stood at attention. The elder simply took this as a yes and lead the young soldier back to the elevator. "Stay safe during this war. If you need to calm down, feel free to come to me for advice."

They stepped onto the elevator and looked back at Lamed. The opened their mouth to say something, but hesitated.

"...Thank you." The elevator was already heading back down before Lamed could ask the quiet soldier their words. She smiled at them as they descended, and returned to speak with the scholars that now were appearing to speak with her.
