The curtains of the small bedroom had been drawn tight, blocking out the light of the morning sky. The alarm had been set for an hour earlier than usual, though it seemed to have been of little use. Noelle had been up for over an hour, playing the new game she had bought the day before. She had been looking out for her brother to wake up, waiting for him to come into the room, but she had no idea that he was already watching her.

Kris had been watching his sister play her game for quite some time now. He had no idea what it was about, but he was pretty sure that she was playing it wrong. Monitors were his thing, after all, so he knew best. Yet, he couldn't help but feel bad for her. He knew that she was just trying to play the game, but she was clearly doing something wrong.

"Noelle," he called out, seeing her jump slightly. "I'm coming in."

Kris had gone into the room, moving to his sister's side. She had immediately gone to the pause button, turning to him with wide eyes.

"Kris, what are you doing up?" she asked, looking away.

"I was watching you play." he replied, not bothering to hide his smile. "Noelle, you're playing the game wrong."

"What? Kris, I think I know how to play!"

"No, Noelle, you're doing it wrong." he turned back to the game. "See, you're supposed to use this one here."

Noelle had watched, her eyes widening as he showed her how to play.

"Wow, I never knew that." she said, looking at the screen.

"I know, right? I should have been watching you."

Noelle had smiled at him, before turning back to the game. He had watched as she figured out the controls, grinning as she zoomed around the map. He had been about to leave her to her own devices before she had reached out for him.

"Kris, can you watch me? I want to be better." she had pleaded, looking at him.

"Of course, Noelle." he had nodded, sitting down next to her.

"You should see me!" she said, a wide smile on her face.

"I'm watching."

She had been playing for a while now, but her eyes would light up every time he told her that she was doing well.

"Kris." she had called out, hearing the familiar sound of his alarm.

"Noelle." he had called out, turning to her.

She had turned off the game, going over to him.

"Kris, thank you."

"Noelle." he had said, pulling her into a tight hug. "Thank you for waking me up."
