Going about your normal work duties, you found it all but impossible to expel Mikey from your thoughts.
You couldn't understand why it bothered you so much, but the mystery around his strange behaviour had you stumped. Desperate to find an answer, you went over and over your interactions for any potential cues you might've missed.
Of course, this only made the sick feeling grow. Whether it was the fear of being disliked or just the ridiculous overthinking, but the uncomfortable thoughts made you want to crawl into a hole.
And although juggling work made it a little easier to tolerate, once you got home, sleeping was out of the question.
By the time you did manage to fall asleep, it was nearly time to get up for school again.
Forcing yourself to get ready, you try to hide the bags under your eyes.
Wakasa: Aren't you having breakfast?
Watching you make your lunch, Wakasa stops you as you go to leave without eating.
Yuna: I'll eat on the way. I was a bit slow getting ready this morning.
Although you have no intention to do so, Wakasa gets up and butters you a piece of toast.
Wakasa: Well, make sure you do. Here.
Taking the toast from him, you notice him inspecting your tired face.
Wakasa: You sure you're not overdoing it with work?
Yuna: No, it's fine. I just stayed up too late.
Wakasa: I can drop you off if you want.
Yuna: Thanks, but it's really okay. I'll see you this afternoon.
Guilty for skipping out on school, you refuse to indulge in his pity.
That day, you avoid the subject of Mikey and Draken with Emma as much as possible. You also managed to avoid any chance of running into them at lunch by going early or finding somewhere more secluded.
Luckily, Emma obliviously goes along with it.
Emma: Hey, you should come over tomorrow. We can finally start that series we've been waiting for!
Yuna: I'll check with my brother first, but it should be fine.
Emma: Sweet! We can grab snacks on the way home!
Neglecting to think of who she lives with, you readily agree. But the moment it hits you, it's too late.
Yuna: I-It'll just be us, right...?
Emma: Yeah, since gramps is running lessons late and Mikey will be out with Draken.
And thus, the following afternoon you find yourself walking home with Emma.
Emma: Do you think this will be enough?
Yuna: Mmm, no. We'll be lucky to get through half.
While you sarcastically grin at her, she returns the dig.
Emma: That's fine. I'll just have Mikey pick us up some more.
