2 years later

The final battle had been anti-climatic. Voldemort had barely been in any shape to walk or talk, forget dueling. I had learnt the history of the elder wand that Voldemort had somehow procured, and I knew that the 'most powerful wand in the world' belonged to me, by some fluke accident. Regardless, I used it to my advantage, and our fight barely lasted more than 10 seconds after the necessary monologuing was completed.

All of us seventh years took our NEWTs at the ministry held test in September. And we worked on fixing up the rest of the Wizarding world, updating the entire place from the Middle Ages. Kingsley Shacklebolt had been appointed Minister of Magic. And almost everyone else also got out of the battle the way they had wanted to, I guess.

I was starting my job as a Quidditch player this year. I would only do this for a couple of years, because I need a break from the fighting bad guys role. I would work as an Auror for a while after that. Then, I would probably teach DADA at Hogwarts as long as the curse was definitely broken.

Ron and Ginny had a similar plan as me. Ginny was going into Quidditch, while Ron was planning to help Fred and George at their shops – Weasleys Wizarding Wheezes. A solid plan for both, but not as well thought out as Hermione's and Draco's. (That's right, Draco and I are now on first name basis and we don't curse each other more than twice a month!)

Both overachievers were planning to get a job in the Ministry. Hermione was joining the Department for Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, and was planning to work her way up to Minister of Magic. (I bet that she would become Minister in 5 years maximum.) Draco joined the Unspeakables in the Department of Mysteries. (I think he did it so I would avoid him. I hate the department of mysteries because of what happened there at the end of my fifth year.) He was going for head unspeakable.

The rest of the Weasleys were still doing their jobs as usual, I guess. Fred and George with their joke shop, Charlie in a dragon reserve in some far off land (he left Romania, wanted a change of scenery, I believe was his excuse) and Percy was still in the Ministry (head of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes.).

Bill had been majorly injured during the battle of Hogwarts. Turns out, giving almost all your energy to a massive castle to awaken said castle's sentience (which definitely helped in the battle), led to magic ripping through your core uncontrolled. And that led to some major core injury. He could only use his magic sparingly now, but he was satisfied with the results of his 'experiment'. (He did that entire thing based on a hypothesis. He was experimenting using himself, and I was very close to punching his face. Charlie did punch his face.) But Bill was working at Gringotts as a goblin-human liaison, so neither species would kill the other. And as a result, almost nobody could kill him.

Almost everyone else was happy, with their dream job in a peaceful calm world. Snape and Remus were dead, which is what I expect their aim was. Snape was killed by Voldemort, so the selfish dark lord could steal a wand (sounds ridiculous but exactly like something Voldemort would do). And Remus was killed when he shoved Fred out of the way of a falling wall (I think he's probably regretting dying, as my mum's said to be brilliant at torture... I didn't question it then and I won't question it now).

Everything was wonderful at Hogwarts as well, where the castle was still glowing red and silver ( a remnant of Bill's magic). McGonagall was the headmistress and was doing a much better job and the security of the castle than Dumbledore ever did. And most of the other teachers had returned to their own positions. The three new additions – Neville as DADA professor (he was wonderful at defense now! He had honestly spent all of his time working on it. And he would move to Herbology Professor when Professor Sprout retired), Andromeda Tonks as the Potions professor (she was said to be the best in her generation and Slughorn had retired!) and Narcissa Black as Transfiguration professor (I did not expect this, but she was almost as good as McGonagall. I had seen it with my own two eyes!).

Overall, life was going wonderfully. I hadn't died early like I had thought I would and my Quidditch career was a new beginning! Except for the fact that I was supposed to be at the Quidditch pitch ten minutes ago, and my teammates were big fanatics of the sport, almost as bad as Oliver Wood. (I suppose I might still meet my parents before I'm supposed to? Merlin save me...)

And we are finally at the end of the story! Thanks to everyone who read and followed! I hope you all enjoyed...
