The evening in the town is busy as always. People from various places gather to go on with their daily life. Working, shopping, sightseeing, everyone comes with their own purpose. The grey and heavy clouds are covering the blue sky, showing their generosity that evening. Not only they are blocking the fierce ray of the sun, but also pouring the source of life for the lives below. Aside from the flooding crowd, the liveliness of the town can also be seen in the swarm of vehicles on the road. It almost resembles the ants walking in their trails.
Lukas glances around in his seat, looking for anything that sparks his interest as he waits for the traffic light to turn green to continue his journey back home. His wife is sitting next to him, scrolling through her phone in silence. They were just finished shopping for their house necessities and some groceries. Their twin daughters are not with them as they were still at school when they left the house. No music echoes in the car as the couple prefers to serve their ears with the soothing sound of nature, the rain.
"Oh? She opens a boutique here?" Nadya adds her voice to the flavour of the rain's sound with a wide smile carved on her face. Lukas turns to her.
"What's that?"
"Nothing, my friend opened a boutique here. She posted some pictures on her social media. Based on the date she posted, it has been almost two weeks already. Here, take a look." Nadya leans toward her husband as she shows her phone screen. Lukas does the same thing, leaning toward his wife to get a better look at the pictures.
"Oh, interesting. Where is this? It looks like the new building in the new shopping district." Lukas massages his chin a little.
"Uh-huh, you're right. It's the new building." Nadya gets back to sitting properly in her seat and Lukas does the same shortly after. "That reminds me, we never go to that new shopping district. I'd like to see what's interesting there." She glances at her husband from the corner of her eyes, trying to 'fish' him.
"Okay okay, we'll go there next time." A wide grin formed on Lukas' face after listening to his wife. He does not even look at her, but he knows his wife's trick very well. Deep down in his heart, he does not actually mind it. In fact, he is so happy that he gets another date plan with his wife. He switches the gear and starts driving as the car in front of him starts moving.
"Really? Oh dear, thank you very much." Nadya leans toward her husband and kisses his cheek. Soft giggles escape from Lukas' mouth with his wife's action. Even after many years of being together and having three grown-up children, she does not change so much. But he is grateful for that. He always hopes that their relationship will last like that forever.
"Ah, speaking of which." The moment of brief silence is once again broken by Nadya. Lukas tilts his head to his wife, paying attention to her words without bringing his gaze away from the road. "I remember you once told me that someone from our neighbourhood opened a computer shop." Nadya gazes at her husband. No quick answer from Lukas as his mind works hard, searching and going through his memory.
"Johann?" Lukas takes a guess.
"Yeah him, I guess." Nadya scratches her scalp.
"What's wrong with him?"
"You know where his shop is?"
"Yeah, at the new shopping district."
"Oh, that's great. I want to get my laptop fixed. I'm not sure what's wrong with it. I already asked Khai to take a look and see what's the issue. But he also couldn't figure it out." Nadya finally voices out her intention. Lukas just nods a few times in understanding.
"Sure, I can bring you there. When do you want to go?" Lukas offers his aid.
"Oh, thank you very much, dear. Whenever you're free, I don't mind. I'm in no rush." Nadya turns to her husband with a sweet smile. Lukas does the same and returns her smile for a brief second before focusing back on the road. The rest of the journey is continuously accompanied by the sound of the rain and decorated by their random talks and laughter.
