The ambience surrounding the hospital is relatively quiet and peaceful that morning with the rain pouring lightly from the clear sky. But the drops of rain are still unable to hold the sun from shining gallantly on the earth's inhabitants and giving them the opportunity to carry on with their day. In fact, the ray of sunlight is more blinding and scorching that morning than usual. However, the quiet and peaceful ambience does not last long and starts to fade as the hospital's parking area is starting to become busy. People are beginning to flood the hospital as it is almost approaching the visiting hours.
A few people are occupying the benches along the hallways, each with their own intention and purpose. However, despite their presence, the hallway is filled with silence from any human interactions as they are busy minding their own business. Some are playing with their phones, some are staring into nothing and there are also a few that are sleeping. Only the sound of footsteps and the wheels from moving beds and medical machines are echoing in the hallway. Sometimes the voices of the hospital staff and visitors fit in between the sounds. Different emotions and behaviours are also displayed, varying for each individual. Nervous, calm, happy, sad and so on. One thing in common, they are all present for their cared and loved ones.
Mikael leans his back against the chair and throws his sight around him as his hands continue fidgeting with his phone. Almost everything in the hallway gets his attention. The nurses, doctors and visitors walk by and even the posters and medical tools. In fact, he has lost count of how many times he has read the posters that he already memorised them at that point. He can feel that his boredom bar is skyrocketing.
Mikael's mouth has opened wide as he yawns due to his boredom closing to its peak when the sound of the ward's door being opened pulls his attention to it. Upon seeing the doctor that he is waiting for stepping out of the ward, he quickly finishes his yawn and holds the remaining left before getting up from his seat and approaching him.
"How's my housemate doctor?" Mikael goes straight to his main thought calmly.
"You're Mr. Mikael Hover?" Another question comes from the doctor instead of answering Mikael's question.
"Yes, I am."
"He's fine and stable. There is quite a noticeable wound across his left palm, but it's not too deep and serious. Then, about his head injury, his brain received quite a shock, but no part is getting affected. There's bleeding on his scalp, but no crack on his skull. Aside from that, there are no injuries on the other parts of his body. It's weak, but it's just because of fatigue." The doctor smiles at Mikael after finishes examining his report.
"Oh, thank goodness." Mikael releases a relieved sigh and a grateful grin formed on his face.
"But I need to further examine him. So, he can't be discharged quite yet."
"How long he'll be staying here?"
"Based on his condition right now, maybe around three days at most." Mikael nods a few times, understanding the explanation by the doctor.
"Can I see him?"
"Yes, sure. He's already conscious." The doctor steps aside to give space for Mikael to enter the ward as he is still standing right in front of the door.
"Thank you, doctor." Mikael bows a little as he steps in front of the doctor as a sign of respect before opening the door to enter the ward. Feeling sure that his service is no longer needed, the doctor leaves the ward to carry on with his next tasks.
Mikael slowly steps inside the ward and closes the door carefully as he does not want to disturb his housemate who is lying motionlessly on the hospital bed. As he approaches Khaiser with silent steps, he takes a moment to glance around the ward first, refreshing his sight with a new scenery after a long while waiting in the hallway. The decoration in the ward is fairly simple and relaxing with the cool breeze from the air conditioner and the white and light blue theme. The only thing that is tainting the ambience is the strong 'hospital scent', which he believes most people dislike. Mikael grabs the chair provided for the visitor right next to the bed and sits on it as his gaze returns to his housemate.
