Chapter 5 - Am I dead?

VIOLET'S POV

I groaned as I heard annoying noises and tried to open my eyes but they felt heavy.

Beep Beep

Why does that sound familiar. I tried opening my eyes again and I succeeded but had to blink rapidly because of the light , I looked around and saw that I was laying on a bed with white sheets which are very familiar with white walls surrounding me .

"Why does this seem like a hospital " I mumbled under my breath.

"Because it is honey ."A voice called out which turned out to be the nurse.

What does she mean by that?

I was confused for a few seconds before the events from last night flooded in my mind and I wondered how I ended up here .

The stranger helped you duh

Shut up

Can't believe I'm really arguing with my mind , I opened my mouth to ask what happened but my mouth was so dry.

"Water" I barely whispered out , and the nurse handed me a glass of water which I quickly finished as quick as it came.

"Hello honey, my name is Janice and I'm your nurse for this whole week , and take it easy honey , those wounds on your hands and back haven't healed yet . Your uncle is in the waiting room , I will inform him that you're awake and if you need anything just press the button there ." With that she quickly scurried off.

Woah

I'm going to be here for the whole week

And when she said my scars haven't healed yet does that mean is have been here for more than a day

And lastly since when did I have an uncle

I was brought back to reality as the stranger from last night entered my room , looking nervous , wonder why.

"hi " he greeted with a warm smile .

"Hello " I answered back in a shy voice.

"How are you feeling"he questioned timidly.

"Well besides being sore , and feeling like someone is banging something on my head , I think I'm pretty good"I replied with a half smile . Don't know what it was about this man that made me Interact  with him so easily.

"Sorry about my question , I didn't thing it through , anyway the doctor said you can leave next week , since your wounds need to heal , and if you don't mind me asking she said she found other scars that aren't caused by the broken glass , what caused them?"

I immediately tensed up at that question.What was I going to to tell him.
Well you know my family is a fan of showing affection through actions so this is the result .

It doesn't sound that bad , who am I kidding it sounds so bad. How about I tell him I'm so clumsy and I fall everyday ? probably the worst lie out there. He looked like someone I could trust but I had just met him who knows what if he's working for the Soreign family or For Adam.

"Ummm it's complicated"was the stupid answer I decided to give him.

He gave me a warm understanding smile and replied immediately"It's ok , I understand."

"You must be starving , I will quickly go buy some light breakfast since the doctor said you shouldn't eat heavy food , for the mean time just freshen up and take the clothes by the corner there, I will be right back."with that he scurried out the door and left me puzzled.
