Finally! Someone who shares my ideals
Who treasures all the things I hold dear,
So much in common: hopes, notions, dreams, fears,
Basking in her aura bestowed me with zeal
All emotional battering could be healed
Beholding that girl, solely drawing near
Shining diamonds, precious gems her veneer
Far greater than party girls her appeal
But of course, the stars always cross my love
She lusted after the school’s quarterback
Yearned to discard her braces and glasses
Surely a divine prank from up above,
Since dating’s tough when you’re nerdy and Black,
I died, watching her burn for the masses
