Epilogue

Normal POV

With the exception of Sora, Donald and Goofy enjoying the tea party, the rest of the tower was quiet as Master Yen Sid, Mickey, Lea and Nyra watched over the sleeping Riku, waiting for him to begin stirring. "Riku!" Mickey exclaimed as Riku looked up to see the four people looking ever him; remembering something, Riku quickly sat up, startling Mickey and almost bumping into Nyra. "Sora!" He called out before Nyra pointed to the table behind Riku, causing him to turn around to see Sora there. "Hey, Donald! Come on, you're hogging it all!" he shouted at the duck, "Aw, calm down, Sora, and drink your tea." Donald talked back as Goofy took a sip in his teacup, "Gawrsh, it sure is yummy!" the knight said carelessly. "Hey!" Riku snapped, causing the trio at the tea party to jump in surprise and turn around to see Riku, with Sora sporting a party hat and a goofy pair of glasses. Sora quickly took off the glasses and party hat and smiled, "Riku..." He began slowly before instantly flinging himself at Riku, wrapping his arms around his best friend. "You're safe! Riku!" Sora rejoiced as he cling tightly, causing Nyra to bring her hand up to keep herself from laughing at the amusing scene. He then loosens his grip when Riku began to talk, "Wait, haven't we got this backwards? And why are you having a tea party?" Riku asked in confusion. "You're safe, Riku!" Sora shouted in joy and hugged him again; Riku looked over to Nyra, who just shrugged and looked just as confused as he was. He brought his hand up to his forehead, "Ah, never mind. You okay? Feeling all right?" he asked his best friend. Sora released Riku from his hug and nodded, "Yeah, I've never been better. I was watching what was going on in my dream. And I could hear your voice the whole time. Thanks, Riku." He answered before Riku nodded in reply before turning to face everyone else. "Thanks, everybody!" Donald and Goofy looked at each other and laughed while Mickey and Nyra nodded and smiled. Lea grinned and Master Yen Sid began to stroke his beard, causing Sora to remember. "Oh yeah! Did we pass the test?" Sora asked, "You preformed truly admirably, both of you," the sorcerer said with a nod. The two boys shared a glance and smiled before getting up and ran to the front of Yen Sid's desk, knocking over some chairs in the process.

After Yen Sid sat down, he waited for Nyra to clear up the mess and positioned herself beside Mickey before clearing his throat. "More than anything, I am grateful to have you both back from Xehanort's deception unharmed." The sorcerer began, "And I am grateful to Lea, whose spontaneous actions turned the tides." Master Yen Sid added as he looked over to Lea, slightly embarrassed by this credit. "Nyra and I have been discussing about her reckless actions." He looked back to the daughter of his deceased apprentice, who begins to brace for the impact of her consequence. "And," Nyra looked up in surprise, "I am truly grateful for her courage that has allowed the two of you to escape from Xehanort." He added as he turned his attention back to both Sora and Riku. "I am also deeply sorry, for failing to perceive the danger and throwing you headlong into a perilous test. This experience has revealed many hidden truths, and we must gird ourselves for the great clash with darkness that lies before us. I believe we need a new Keyblade Master, one with a new kind of power. Sora and Riku, you both deserve the honor. However, one of you braved the realm of sleep again to unlock the final Keyhole and save a friend. Riku, I name you our new true Keyblade Master." He finished, the room was silent for a second before Sora smiled and turned to his best friend. "Way to go, Riku!" Sora congratulated, pulling his best friend down closer to him, "Y-yeah?" Riku asked, looking unsure. "I knew you were gonna pass with flying colors. This is just so awesome!" Sora said as he lightly bumped Riku in the chest, "Gee, Sora, you're kinda acting like it's you that passed." said Goofy, "I told ya Sora still needed some practice." Donald said casually. "Hey." Sora said, looking at Donald. "Really? I'm a Keyblade Master?" asked Riku in disbelief before he looked at his best friend and Sora nodded reassuringly, "Congratulations, Riku!" said Mickey as He, Donald, and Goofy began to gather. "Thank you, Mickey." Riku said, kneeling down to shake his hand. "I owe it to my friends." He looked at Sora, causing him to laugh a bit.
