I walk into my fathers office not bothering to knock and roll my eyes when I catch him glaring at me. Me and parents don't really have a good relationship. I was raised by my grandparents and barely saw my parents, so when my mom called me two days ago saying that my dad had to tell me something, I didn't even try to cover my irritation.
I sit down on the chair in front of his desk and cross my arms, returning the glare he has been giving me since I walked in. "What do you want?", I ask just wanting to leave again. He opens his mouth, but before he can answer a knock sounds behind me. "Come in", my father calls, keeping his eyes on me. "Maybe you can learn something from them", I frown "what are you-",
"I'm sorry I'm late, there was a lot of traffic", I turn around, my eyes widening when I see who's walking this way. My enemy. What the hell are they doing here? Their hair is wet from the rain, but their black suite/dress looks untouched. "Well hello there", they say when they notice me, a small smirk spreading on their face.
"What the fck is going on", I finally say my eyes going back to my father while t/n sits on the chair next to me. He rolls his eyes before pushing a document our way. I grab it before t/n can get their hands on it and realization hits me when I read the first line. "You want me to marry them for your fcking business", the document is out of my hands immediately and t/n is staring at it with wide eyes. "What is this?", they ask staring at my father, their eyes darkening.
"I talked with your father and we found out that it would be a good thing for both our businesses if the two of you got married. The marriage will be in two months and you will have to keep it up for 2 years, then it's over",
"What the fck!", I scream standing up, my chair falling on the ground. "We don't have a say in this?!",
"No, you don't. You already signed the contract, both of you did",
"We didn't-", t/n starts, but stops, their eyes snapping up to me. We did sign it, without realizing it. They made us sign a document, both of us, 5 years ago. They played us. "You little shit", t/n stands up, but my father follows suit, an ugly smirk on his face. "You can say and do whatever you want, this will go through and both of you know it so don't start a drama for nothing", he walks to the door, leaving us alone and confused.

"This can't be fcking happening", I say pacing around. T/n leans against the desk of my father, their eyes on me. I stare at them with wide eyes. "Aren't you going to freak out!?",
"What do you want me to do?", they say walking my way now.
"What the fck am I supposed to do? I'm in this with you, I was also played, betrayed", they are standing in front of me now. "So are we gonna cry about it or just deal with it and get ourself out of this shit?",
I look down, tears stinging my eyes. This can't be happening to me. I should marry someone bc I love them and they love me, not be forced to marry someone for business. I feel something warm on my chin, tilting my head up. My blurry eyes lock with hazel ones, an emotion in them I can't quite describe.
"Listen, I know you don't want to be with me, but we are in this together and we will get out of this together. Trust me",
"But how?", I ask my voice breaking at the end, this is becoming too much for me. "I don't know", they whisper. "But we'll get out of it", the hand on my chin goes to the back of my neck and before I know it I feel soft lips getting pressed on my forehead. Not having the energy to fight and also liking the warmth it gives me, I push my body against theirs. I wrap my arms around their waist and burry my face in their chest, letting the tears fall down. Their arms wrap around my body, one hand caressing my hair and the other one holding me close. I don't know how we'll get out of this, but we will.
