Sylvia sat on her throne, conversing with the nobility that filled the chamber. The topics of discussion mostly revolved around upcoming dances and gatherings for the aristocracy and imperial family. "December is coming up, and it will mark two hundred years of my family's reign," Sylvia explained. "So we'll host a winter ball to honor the momentous occasion," she stated as the nobles applauded. Everyone prospered under House Beaumont's leadership, noblemen and common folk alike. However, the talk was abruptly cut short by a royal courier. As Sylvia sat up in her chair, he exclaimed, "Your Imperial Majesty, News from General Botan in Azeroth." "Yes, what is it?" she inquired of the messenger boy. The messenger boy hurried up to the Imperial Empress and whispered gently in her ear as she smiled. "My Lords and Ladies, we have excellent news regarding our lovely realm and this military conflict," she stated loudly and commandingly, yet cheerfully. The nobility hushed as they gazed at their ruler. "Sundarian Troops have triumphantly laid claim to Polis, the capital of Azeroth; we have conquered the Northern Nation!" she said as the crowd erupted in applause. "Hold your excitement, there's more: General Botan has succeeded in bringing The Chancellor and Supreme General of Azeroth into Imperial Custody, where they will be under my Imperial Watch and put under house arrest till further notice," she continued, as everyone applauded. Sylvia reclined back in her seat, waving the messenger closer. "Bring our beloved ex-presidents to the palace. I'd appreciate the opportunity to meet our new friends "She stated this as the envoy nodded immediately and moved off to inform General Botan of Sylvia's Command. As she watched the Messenger go, Sylvia couldn't help but grin. 'This battle will be my biggest triumph, and Sundari's finest victory,' she thought to herself as she stared upon the nobility who were rejoicing. Yokai hid among the crowds as he gazed at the Empress, who was resplendent in expensive jewelry and apparel, and wore a big crown on her head. He grinned and approached her. Sylvia's train of thinking was cut short as she saw the recognizable man named Yokai bowing to her. "Your Imperial Majesty, may I attend you on this momentous occasion?" He queried as he stared at her with his brilliant gold eyes, seeing her blue ones returning his gaze. As Yokai sat on the chair next to her, she gave him a polite nod. "You should be on the dance floor, such a gorgeous lady like yourself," he remarked, "but you lurk up here on the throne." Sylvia maintained a straight face as she replied to his statement. "A monarch must learn when to celebrate or when to make oneself noticed," she told him. "A queen need not make a spectacle of herself, as a true ruler's power is already known once she walks into a room" the queen replied. "That is perfectly true Your Grace, I didn't seem to think of that of course," he said politely. He cast a peek at the small but lovely woman beside him. While she was lovely and strong-willed, his main ambition was to marry her and become Emperor. "I hope this isn't too invasive, Your Grace, but may I ask you out on a date tonight?" he requested, as she gave him a little but detectable grin. "You may call me Sylvia, Yokai," she replied, as they already knew one another by first name. "But certainly, I would not really mind a... peaceful night off from royal responsibilities with you," she replied, as Yokai smiled warmly. "Well, then, I'll send a note to your room tonight with instructions about where to meet me," he said as he kissed her palm and went back into the crowd, Sylvia grazing her hand with her other hand. "Yes... see you tonight," she'd said. Cristina and Diaz were taken aback by the magnitude of the Sundarian Imperial Palace as they approached it. "The Royal Palace is grander than I ever imagined," she added as Diaz nodded softly. "I guess the Imperial Court is more affluent and influential than they say in tales and legends," he remarked before being interrupted by General Botan opening the door to the expensive automobile. "Let's go, The Empress waits in the Throne Room," he added as Imperial Guards took them within the castle like captives. "Why aren't we handcuffed?" Cristina inquired. "Even though we are Prisoners, we are captives under sovereign supervision," Diaz said quietly as they entered the lavish, grand palace. Sylvia was now alone in the throne room, peering out the window when a royal courier opened the enormous doors to the royal chamber. "Your Imperial Majesty, Chancellor Warren, and Supreme General Diaz of Azeroth," he added as Cristina's shoes clicked on the floor and Diaz joined her. Sylvia turned her body and took a step forward, glancing over her shoulder. Diaz gave her a stern look as he spoke. "So you're the Empress of this sovereign state that thinks they rule the planet and our homes," he explained. Sylvia laughed to herself as he spoke. "We do not own the world, but we intend to improve it in manners you could never imagine," she stated. "Your Highness, you are not assisting or benefiting the planet! Many citizens were murdered or detained, and the city of polis is now nothing but wreckage and ruin; you devastated the home of over a million people! "He screamed passionately. Sylvia's expression was stunned for a brief period, but she immediately concealed it. "Sometimes, devastation and tragedy are required to attain the objective of perpetual prosperity and peace," she explained. "Your Majesty.. your army devastated the country and its citizens.. if you wanted to help, you would unite and work collaboratively with the world, not assault and siege Sundari's neighboring nations," he countered. Sylvia remained silent because she knew for a fact that he was correct.
