Back in real time, Nigel woke up in the hospital, Chad had found him unconscious in his house, Nigel was indeed hit in the head by the falling pot. He fell in a coma for a month and has been in the hospital physically all along. He was healthy, he was diagnosed as really tired and drowned in grief.

Chadwick, Ichika and the doctors were around him, his friends were the happiest to see him awake.

Nigel told no one about his final meeting with his wife, they would all think he was mad and possibly not believe him.

Chad and Ichika took care of him for the first few weeks once discharged to get better.

He was alone and their song began to play again, from this he could smile though a few drops of tears fell, he vowed to keep his promise.

"I will keep my promise Liz, I will live on but you are my one and only wife, but please, wait for me Liz, let us cross to the after life together".

Bob sought out therapy to help him, if he was going to try to live without Liz physically with him, he wanted to do anything to try and keep his promise to her.

Bob went back to work, he was welcomed back by everyone, his friends and coworkers were glad to see him on his feet again, he smiled for the first time in months from her death.

Though deep down he missed her and couldn't move on from her, he could only move forward and he accepted her untimely death and it became easier for him to live.
Within a year Nigel cried less and smiled more, he never bats an eye to any other woman.
He said he only belonged to Liz, he went to support groups that encourage celibacy, many of his friends took this as him still being insanely eaten by Liz not being with him anymore.

But no one said anything, they all took it as his way to cope with life and they didn't want to help in fall into depression instead of pulling him out.

One day at work there was a visitor for him in their reception area.

Nigel had no idea who this person was, but when he went and saw a pregnant blond woman who he had never seen in his life, his curiosity grew.

"Mr Elric, I am Marissa Ellis, a friend of your late wife, my condolences".

"Thank you Mrs Ellis?" He shook her hand and sat down together with her.

"I had no idea about Elizabeth, I left the country and came back searching for her at the comic house, where I was told where to find you"
Marissa came with a small gift she gave to Nigel.

"No this is totally fine-"

Marissa shook her head "Mr. Elric please, Elizabeth was a wonderful person, please allow me".

Nigel had to accept the gift, it was a beautiful butterfly figurine, Liz loved butterflies.

"I knew she loved butterflies, she has now turned into a beautiful spiritual butterfly"

How thoughtful he thought, her beautiful reassuring smile made him smile too.

"Sometime ago, your wife, a kind young woman, donated some of her eggs to me to be frozen. I couldn't have children and I longed to have a child"

Nigel wondered where she was going with this,

"But by some miracle I got pregnant on my own, a true blessing from God only. My family was so rejoiced I just had to come and tell my friend the news as she knew my journey. But I never got to."

"Congratulations on finally conceiving then".

Marissa smiled and thanked him.

"Thank you" Marissa gave him an envelope

"These are the rights to Elizabeth's eggs she donated to me, still frozen, never touched, I love her for doing such an amazing thing for me, but these belong to you".

Nigel's body movements froze momentarily, he knew not where to look or gaze.
He had a sudden racing heartbeat.

"Go on open it" she said to him and so he did
They were documents that his Liz signed and proved that she did give some of her eggs to this woman. There was her signature and her personal stamp.
"Did she really?" he asked

Marissa smiled and nodded "Yes, she was so young, she helped me, I am grateful to her even though I never used them . But Mr. Elric they belong to you. I am giving them to you. To help carry on her bloodline."

Nigel began to cry again as he thanked Marissa, she gave him tissue to dry his tears.

"I can tell you truly loved Elizabeth, she told me a lot about you and I never got to meet you until today. You are a strong young man Mr. Elric".

Nigel saw this as God giving him a miracle.

That evening Nigel wasted no time to visit Liz, he bought her flowers and told her about Marissa's visit and about her donated eggs.
He told her he wishes to continue their bloodline together and wants to ask her approval.

Nigel also asked Elizabeth's parents for approval, they happily agreed that their only child's bloodline be continued.

Though he trusted Marissa he still checked for DNA, they were indeed Liz's eggs. Nigel began the process, using a surrogate and his sperm.

It wasn't an easy task, a lot of deep prayers from his heart were invested into it, out of so many eggs only two were the strongest and showed potential to become a foetus (fe-tus) So he chose two genders: a boy and a girl, fraternal twins.
Chad and Ichika were with him all the way, they were at any appointments if it was possible for them to make it and so were Mr and Mrs Hill, who were excited to become grandparents.

On the first of February of the following the babies were born both weighing 4 pounds and ounces.
Noah Jole Elric and Briar Mae Elric.
Words could not express how happy everyone was, especially Nigel.
And one would not have to guess who the God parents were; Chad and Ichika of course.
