*tw gore/blood*
Before you start reading this, you need to know about the border. there is a border that separates monsters and humans for their own safety. monsters are allowed to kill in their territory, and humans are allowed to kill monsters in their territory. then we have Ash. Ash lives pretty close to the border. Every day he can hear screams of the innocent people being murdered and the not-so-innocent humans surviving being treated like a hero, just because they are a murderer.
Now on this particular day, Ash wakes up to his friend spamming his phone and calling him. He wakes up and rubs his eyes for better vision, and answers his phone. When he picks up his phone his friend, Kriss, starts screaming. "AYO SHITHEAD, DID YOU WATCH THE NEWS?? WE NEED TO GO RUN" he lazily responds with "well good morning to you too" only to hear "DID YOU NOT HEAR WHAT I SAID? GET YOUR ASS UP AND MEET ME AT THE PARK" Kriss continues unbothered. "All right alright" Ash says while putting his phone on speaker. "So why do I need to meet you?" Kriss sighs impatiently and then goes "A monster-hatchling was seen in the center. It had blood all over its face and some sort of teddy bear, after the hatchling was seen multiple houses were set on fire while multiple families were inside them. Just get out of your house immediately and meet me'' ''wait- but why would there be a child covered in blood and just buildings randomly setting on fire" Ash asked worried while putting on his hoodie. "Probably the hatchlings parent- and why do you call it a child? it's- it's not even human" Kriss responds with a shaking voice. "Because they aren't inhuman either, they have their own way of living. I find no need in seeing them that way" Kriss could hear Ash say. "Whatever you say- but HURRY THE FUCK UP" Ash hangs up the phone and went to the park where Kriss stood waiting impatiently. Oh if he knew what was about to go down, he would have turned around and walked away. but unfortunately, he didn't and continued walking towards Kriss.
The first thing he hears is "THERE YOU ARE! WHAT IN GODS NAME TOOK YOU SO LONG" Kriss said while punching Ash's arm lightly. "I'm sorry okay, the bus didn't come because of all the things going on right now. Wait what are yo-"
Kriss covered Ash's mouth with his hand, and put his finger on his lips with his other hand, and pointed behind him. Ash slowly turns his head to see a werewolf cub covered in blood and holding a teddy bear running around. Ash then looks back to Kriss who mouths "that's the monster I was talking about" Ash puts Kriss's hand off of his mouth, and slowly starts walking towards the cub who now has noticed his presence. Ash kneels down at the shaking little creature who held the teddy bear tighter which each second that was passing. Ash then reaches into his pocket and takes out a tissue and wipes some of the blood that was on the cub's face. under the blood was a giant freshly made cut across their cheek.
Ash then looks into the bright golden eyes of the cub, where tears started to form. Before Ash could wipe away more blood, the ground started to shake and Ash could hear Kriss scream. "GET BACK HERE! PLEASE ASH!" without thinking Ash jumped towards the cub and grabbed her, falling to the ground with them. as soon as he did, fire began flying out of the ground like a liquid. Kriss tried to get to them but everywhere he set foot fire would appear. Ash looked down at the cub in his arms as they were laying down. The cub was looking up or rather in front of them, Ash then was looking the same way as the cub, and there was a bigger werewolf standing there. this one was different from the cub. they had red eyes instead of gold and even parts of their hair were the same color red. the flames stopped flying out the ground and Ash let go of the cub who jumped up and ran to the bigger werewolf.
The other werewolf then kneeled down and spread his arms and embraced the cub. he then looked over to Ash as he struggled to get up, since he had burned his leg. The werewolf let go of the cub and walked towards Ash. As Ash noticed the creature getting closer, his eyes grew bigger in fear and he backed up till he almost hit the flames. With the heat of the fire and fear and anxiety rising in his chest, it became harder to breathe. The werewolf then kneeled down and it felt like the blood-red eyes were staring directly into Ash's soul. The werewolf then proceeds to hold out his hand. Ash looked terrified at the long claws of the creature and flinched as blue flames came out of the werewolf's palm. The monster then proceeds to lower his hand to Ash's burned leg and was about to put his hand onto it, but Ash pulled his leg in. The werewolf looked up again into Ash's eyes, and gestured for the cub to come over. The cub obeyed and ran towards them. the werewolf then took the same blue flame and put it on the cub's cheek where the cut was, and when the werewolf removed his hand from the cub's cheek, the cut was gone with only some leftover blood remaining. The werewolf then looked over to ash again with the flame held out, as if he was trying to explain to him what he was trying to do. Ash hesitantly stuck out his leg and closed his eyes holding his head down. He felt a lukewarm hand around the burned area of his leg and some seconds later the hand was removed from his leg. when Ash opened his eyes looking down at his leg he saw that the burn was healed, the flames were starting to fade away. Ash looked up to the monster who had already stood up and was leaving with the cub on his back. Ash stood up and called out to them "THANK YOU!" knowing full well they couldn't understand him. but the werewolf looked back and smiled and then disappeared as quick as it came.
"ASH!" Kriss screamed as he jumped over the remaining small flames, while he was drenched in sweat. "What the actual fuck just happened?" he then proceeded to ask while catching up on his breath. "I think the parent of the cub found them, and probably thought I was about to hurt them but then realized I wasn't, so they healed me" Kriss let out a breath of relief. "You got lucky, I'll give you that" Kriss snarled fixing his scarf. "what if it hadn't realized you weren't a threat? what if it killed you on the spot?" he added. Ash shrugged and started walking away as well with Kriss following him, while constantly asking Ash if he was sure he was actually okay.
After about 10 minutes of walking, they were almost at Ash's house. "let's change the subject. How's that "marriage" going for you?" Ash asked, since he did not want to talk about himself anymore. "She isn't that bad honestly." Kriss answered.
Kriss is from a wealthy family and is in an arranged marriage with a girl from another rich family. "We agreed we both didn't want to be in a relationship and would go through this as just friends, besides she already has a boyfriend" he chuckled.
"To be honest, I kind of find it sick that you rich people have to go through this" Ash muttered. "Same, but I can honestly not see it changing though." Kriss sighed while putting his hands behind his head. They were quiet for a bit until they heard a voice. "One more step and I shoot you both"
