It was a normal day in Henderson, Nevada. The sun started to set, cars drove by, and some shops got ready to close. In a bar, there were only a few people. It was 6:00pm. Already happy hour. Maybe some people decided to take a pause from drinking.......... Or maybe it was because a year and a half ago this one person made it clear that they wouldn't be bothered while they drank. It was made clear not to mess with them when a gruff and rude regular decided to challenge them. Then, the old regular was in the hospital with a broken leg, a broken arm, and a few broken ribs.

Because of how they fought, everyone thought that this new regular was either from the military or took fight classes for years. But what surprised everyone the most, was the fact that after they finished fighting, they only asked for a shirley temple. No alcohol, no added shots, just a shirley temple.

Today, the new regular was drinking their shirley temple as usual as they listened to the news play on the television.

"Another sighting of a metal beast had been reported by an old hermit, known as John," said the reporter. "This metal beast was different from the previous being small with yellow eyes, it was huge. Five or six stories tall with red glowing eyes. Officer Jenson says that these are most likely just pranks from cosplayers, however, Officer Brayburn has to say otherwise to the matter."

The woman- asian with blue eyes- then turned to the officer- black with curly hair- who just came up.

"Thank you, Jeanine," he said. "We may not know what these creatures are, but we do know this. If you spot one of them, stay indoors and report it to us. If it happens to be a hoax, we will tell you. If not, we will protect you."

Jeanine then smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Officer Brayburn smiled sweetly.

"I'll see you after work, hun." he said. The screen then turned to the man who was the one in charge of the news.

"Aw, such a sweet display," he said.

The new regular smirked at the cute couple as a new bartender looked at the news. He was tan with curly hair and blue eyes and had cute freckles along his face. They looked at the boy still smirking.

"Are those your parents?" they asked. The boy looked at them startled.

"Y-Yeah! That's my mom and dad." he said, pulling his hair back.

"Hm. I can tell." they said as they smiled. "You have your dad's hair and your mom's eyes."

The boy chuckled a bit.

"Yeah, I get that a lot." he said. The new regular then cocked their head.

"Are you new?" they asked. "I haven't seen you around here before."

"Oh, yeah!" he said, as he reached his hand to theirs. "My name's Jay. Jay Brayburn?"

"Jay." the regular said. "Nice name. Mine's Skylar."

They took his hand and shook it.

"Nice to meet you." They replied.

"JAY!!" shouted the manager. "Why aren't you doing your job?"

"I-I.. I'm sorry, Mr. Smith!" Jay exclaimed. Skylar frowned.

"Lay off him, Smith." They said, "He's doing his job well."

Mr. Smith growled before huffing. He left the two alone after a second. Skylar smirked with triumph. They then took the cherry from their drink- now with nothing left but ice- and popped it in their mouth. A small moment later, they spat out the stem that now had a knot. They placed their tab on the counter next to the mostly empty glass.
