SOULMATE AU (dave x karkat)

CHAPTER 4

I had a horrible dream that night. I was in this weird lava-ish area with me standing over a volcano and looking over across the lava, only to see Dave get stabbed by a weird large black dog and a pale woman wrapped in a grey robe. I screamed for him, watching him fall and bleed, when suddenly I was stabbed twice and fell into the lava below. I awoke to Dave shaking me awake. "Kitkat!" Dave shouted. I opened my eyes slowly, "Dave?" I asked. "God Karkles you scared me half to death!" Dave said as he hugged me tightly. I snuggled into his chest, tears dripping down my cheeks. "What happened?" Dave asked as he kissed the top of my head. "I saw you get stabbed, twice and then you died and I...I couldn't bear it. So I screamed for you and the next thing I know I got stabbed and then fell back into some lava." I said, through my tears. Dave moved me off his lap, placing me in front of him. He pushed my chin up so our eyes met. "Karkat Vantas I will never leave you and I will not die for a very long time." Dave said slowly, making sure I understood every word. I nodded my head and leaned forward, pressing our lips together. We broke the kiss and I snuggled back into his chest, and we fell asleep peacefully.

The next morning I woke up to Dave petting my hair. "Dave what time is it.?" I asked as I sat up and wiped the sleep from my eyes. "Nine Thirty PM." Dave said as he flopped back down on the bed. "Shit!" I said as I gathered up my phone, shoes, and shirt. "Whoa Kitkat, slow down." Dave said as he came over and rested his hands on my shoulders. I spun around, gave Dave a quick kiss and ran out of the apartment, heading home.

As I walked up to my house I noticed that all the lights were on and a police car was parked out front. Wait a police car?! I ran up to the front door and walked in. "Dad? I'm home." I said as I waking into the living room. My dad shot up and ran over to hug me. "Oh my gog Karkat don't you dare ever scare me like that again!" He exclaimed as he hugged me. "I said I was at Dave's house." I mumbled into my father's sweater. He finally let me go and looked me straight in the eyes. "You said you were at his house but you wouldn't answer your phone, I didn't know what had happened to you and I've never met that boy!" He shouted. "The only reason that I didn't answer my phone was because we fell asleep and Dave's a good guy, he's kind and sweet and amazing." I explained. "Then maybe you should invite him over for dinner sometime, I'd really love to meet him." Dad said. "Maybe." I replied as I walked up the stairs and into my room. I walked over to my computer and pulled up my conversation with Dave. 

CG: HEY SO I WAS WONDERING IF YOU WANTED TO COME OVER FOR DINNER SOMETIME, MY DAD REALLY WANTS TO MEET YOU

TG: sure. when?

CG: I WAS THINKING TOMORROW NIGHT

TG: okay

CG: OKAY

TG: no we're not doing this

CG: MAYBE OKAY WILL BE OUR ALWAYS

TG: kitkat plz no, neither one of us has cancer and we are not going to turn our relationship into a YA novel

CG: DAVE WHY..

TG: because I'm a grenade and I believe it's my duty to limit the casualties

CG: YOU DORK

TG: but im your dork 

CG: ALWAYS, NOW GO THE FUCK TO BED

TG: fine goodnight kitkat

CG: NIGHT DAVE

I logged off of Pesterchum and sat down on my bed. 'Dave meeting my dad... That's going to be interesting.' I thought to myself.  I fell back onto my bed and looked up at my ceiling, the last thought in my head before I fell asleep was that weird dream I had at Dave's house.

AN: There i finally updated! sorry this took me so long I've been busy with work and school but work is ending soon and I'll have 5 whole weeks to update!
