And maybe for the rest if his life again.
Maybe. Just maybe. And that maybe didn't last, I won't say long but it definitely came faster than expected.
Akaza sits in his room quietly head hung low as he stares at the silver ring that was wrapped around his ring finger. His face stained with previous shedded tears now dry and flaky. He slowly takes the ring off and reaches into his pocket to take out a black ring. With the word Kyoujuro embedded. He holds the two rings and head to a shelf located near the entrance of the door and places both of them next to a photo of him and his fiancé.
He lifts the picture and kisses it before heading towards the balcony. He takes in the sunset and how the warm breeze felt againts his skin. He will miss this. He goes over the railing and stands on the edge of the balcony while his hands hold himself loosely on the railings.
He lets go.
.
" Love, leave " Akaza opens his eyes and finds himself standing next to his lover but he couldn't move to face him. His body felt stiff and soon ached and the world turned black.
.
..knock..knock..
Akaza rushed to the door and opens it while greeting his guests with a warm smile.
"Hakuji , Koyuki!" Akaza exclaimed before brining them to a hug but was careful to not make it too tight to squish the baby in koyuki. The two married couple exchanged greetings and gifts before settling down at the living room still chatting away.
"Happy 45th birthday old man" Hakuji declared in a way of mocking his older brothers age. Akaza just giggled and served them both hot tea. The three settled down at the dining table to bow out some candles and sang the birthday song.
"Akaza , make a wish"
Akaza nodded and made a face before blowing out the candles. He didn't actually wish for something as for the past 5 birthdays he had stopped wishing. His wish was the same. 'Bring back Kyoujuro' but that never happend so he let it be. After the suicide attempt 23 years ago he promised himself that he would continue living for his fiancé until his final breath to met him again . He also vowed to never love another again.
"Akaza. You're only 45 you still have a long way to go you can't stay in grief forever. It's time to move on, find a new ."
Koyuki patted Akazas shoulder. He knew she was right but he never tried. Never dared. His heart stayed loyal to him and will forever ..
The weather was not on Akazas side when rain started to pour heavily in such a short notice the next day. He had taken a small trip to a field to get away from everything for a second. Akaza ran to a home near by and by the looks of it , it was occupied. He didn't want to seem rude and to be assumed a creep so he knocked the door. The door swung open a few seconds later and he was greeted by a yellow and red tipped haired man who looked like he was in his late 20s.
That , startled Akaza alot and he jerked violently when his eyes met with the mans. They were so similar. So alike.
"Yes , how may I assist you!" Oh that voice, he can never mistake that voice for his fiancé's never in a life time. He wanted to grab the man and shake him to magicaly remember someone else's memories so that Akaza can selfishly live his suposit life. But Akaza didn't, he could let his feelings get caught up with some random guy who lives in the middle of a field.
"Yes uhm , it's raining badly and I'm far away from any transportation may I stay the night,?" Oh god Akaza sounds like a weird fool but unsurprisingly the Kyoujuro look alike allows him in. The cottage looked cosy and felt warm . Everything about this home was somewhat exsactly what kyoujuros dream house was like. He could remember when kyoujuro was telling him about his dream house , dream dog dream everything but akaza stopped dwelling on the memories before more came in.
