🌼White Lies [Saiouma | Shuichi x Kokichi ff]

Oneshot

All he had remembered was several masked man that grabbed him forcefully, chucked him in a van, suffocated him in chloroform as his vision turned blurry and soon black. He tried to remember more, only to know his name; Shuichi Saihara. Everything else in his head was fuzzy as if his memories had been erased. It seems the girl walking beside him was in the same situation as him; kidnapped and suddenly awoke in this strange building that resembled a school, only to remember her name...nothing else. 

"Hey Shuichi, I think there is an exit this way," the peach haired girl said, pointing at the right end of the worn out, weed infested hallway.  Despite the dire circumstances they were in, the girl he just met in the locker of the classroom; Kaede Akamatsu kept a cheerful appearance. Her bright and bubbly attitude kept Shuichi's mind at ease and forget what had happened earlier. 

They turned to the end of the hallway, only to find a gigantic mechanical robot approaching them. As the robot also spot their presence, it started to chase them. Instinctively Shuichi grabbed the girl's hand and they ran the opposite way. They reach a big door, thankfully unlocked, and barged in with a loud bang. 

He stumbled and fell to his knees with a soft landing, while Kaede paused to observe their surroundings. 

"Who are you guys?" Kaede asked, looking at the other students in the room. They stood a few inches from each other, as if they were all strangers to one another, in a big clean gym that heavily contrasted with the old musty halls they saw outside. Shuichi had noticed this too when he raised his head to see everyone else. Strange, why are their eyes on me alone....

"H-hey, can you get off me..." 

Turns out, what had cushioned his fall earlier was a person. Shuichi hastily got onto his feet, gritted his teeth and cheeks tinted in beet red. "I'm sorry! So sorry! Really, really sorry..."

"It's fine."

The boy with purple hair said, in a soft voice. As he stood up, Shuichi had a closer look of the boy. He was slightly shorter in height, adorable puppy eyes and wore a gakuran that seemed a bit too big for him. Shuichi looked over to see Kaede who had already started talking to a male student with green hair. He decided not to disturb her and turned over to check on the boy who now looked at him wide-eyed and silent. Unconsciously, Shuichi placed his hand over the boy's head, only to realize what he had done was quite unusual to someone he just met. "Oh, er..sorry, erm... i just suddenly felt like doing that..." The black haired boy scratched the back of his head. The other male chuckled faintly, what a strange guy... The tense air that was around them seem to have been lifted. 

"Why did I do that..." Shuichi didn't know what had gotten to him, nor does he regret it. If he could, he wished he had not realized it sooner.  The boy's hair was so soft, and he smelled like sweet fizzy grape.  He wanted to pat and cherish him more. 

"I-I'm Shuichi Saihara and you?" He stuttered a bit as he nervously asked the other. 

"Kokichi Ouma. Nice to meet you, Shuichi."

He flashed a shy smile that sent Shuichi's heart pounding out of his chest. He was a truly adorable little bean. "Why are all of you here?" Shuichi questioned him. "No idea...there was a giant robot chasing me outside. I was so scared, Shuichi..." Kokichi replied with a worried look. Shuichi instantly thought he had to hug and comfort him—whatnot throw himself in front of the robot to protect this poor boy though, he refrained from doing so logically. Speaking about the robot, where is it...

"RISE AND SHINE URSINE!"

Suddenly, more giant robots appeared from the gym entrance, surrounding all of them. Shuichi felt Kokichi hiding behind his shoulder, he opened his arms and willingly become a human meat shield for him. Five colourful teddy bears jumped out of these machines and introduced themselves one by one. These teddy bears were known as Monokubs, and they told the students they needed to regain their memories and uncover their talents.
