* = Multiply (x)

A = y-poitent of 0

B = Multiplyer

^x = Time

y = y-poitent * multiplyer^x

1. A negative exponents suggest a time BEFORE the start of the situation.

Ex: y = 400 -(1/3)^x represents the declining bird population starting in 2015

2. t = -2 represents the bird population in 2013

Negative Exponent Rule

X^-n = 1/x | 3^-2  1/3^3 = 1/9

Power rule

(4^2)^3 = 4^6

4^2   4^2   4^2

4*4   4*4   4*4

400(1/3)^-3

400 / (1/3)^2 = 400 / 1/9
