Luna's Perspective
I found myself waking up early. Roka was nowhere to be seen. Human screams pierced my ears. I clamored down the ladder of my treehouse. Roka must be fighting the goblins already, I thought.
I rushed through the camp. I stopped at my best friend's teepee. I rushed inside. She had fallen asleep in her black fighting robes. Her name was Zoey. I shook her awake. Roka had been right. The goblins were relentless. Zoey sat up and turned her heads towards the screams. Her eyes spread wide. She immediately clutched her green crystal necklace.
"I'm calling the wolves." She said.
Zoey was an empath like me. We were in tune with not only energy, but nature too. For Zoey that included animals. She was in tune with their emotions and energy. She had a pack of wolves that telepathically obeyed her. When she had run away from the Snowton Mountain kingdom she had lived amongst the wolves. Now they were bonded. They followed her wherever she went.
"Let's go make sure the wolves chase away the goblins." I said.
"They will." She replied with a smile.
I rushed through the woods with Zoey. We chased down the trail to town. Once we arrived in town we saw the scene. Goblins were biting and jumping on our friends. The wolves were biting back. Zoey's main wolf Darkstorm was a large black wolf. She was viciously attacking three goblins at once. Zoey drew her dagger from her robes. She jumped forward into the melee of chaos. I grabbed my sword. I swung it through the air and sliced through a goblin's chest. Blood squirted everywhere. I rushed forward. I was covered in blood, but at least it was not my own. I sliced down goblin after goblin. I heard goblins screeching to each other. Then they turned and ran through the trees. The townspeople began to cheer and chant my name as peace fell upon our land again. I smiled and waved to them.
Once we all got back to camp we went over our food stock and scores of injuries. One member of our group was named Ann. She was the healer. She carried a basket of herbs. She stopped by my side. First she spread an ointment over my wounds. It stung harshly. I winced as she spread it around on my shoulder. Then she wrapped my arm.
"Thank you Ann." I said.
"It's no problem, Luna." Ann replied.
Ann was the sister of an evil witch. She had followed her sister here, but her sister didn't want to see her. The handful of times I had met Mozale I could tell something was off about her. Ann was different. Ann was as sweet as pie, and kind to everyone. She went amongst the warriors to check their wounds.
Once she was done I went to help her collect herbs. We walked through the woods until we spotted basil leaves. Ann stopped down and scooped some up. I spotted rosemary growing a few feet away.
"Luna, do you want to work on mixing herbs?" Ann asked as we wandered through the woods.
"Yes. I do. I've been doing some soul searching. I wonder why my magic won't come." I said honestly. "I need help with my magic."
"I'll see what I can do." She replied earnestly.
Ann was a healer. Most of her magic involved talking to the plants and mixing herbs into pastes. I didn't know if I was meant to be a green witch. Most plants looked too similar to me. I spotted a three leafed plant. I pointed at it.
"Is that herb useful?" I asked her.
"That's poison ivy." Ann replied.
"Oh." I said.
"Luna, can I say something?"
"Yes, Ann?"
"Are you worried about your magic to the point that it won't come?" She asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Maybe you're too focused on it and you're blocking it. You need to be able to let go for it to manifest."
"I see. I guess so." I replied, "But also I don't know what type of witch I'm supposed to be."
"My sister had the same problem. She eventually went to the High Priestess and was helped at the castle. Maybe the High Priestess could help you too." Ann said.
"Maybe. Where is her castle?" I asked.
"The High Priestess has four castles. One for each season. She travels because witches are hunted on these lands. You can find her in the southern region in the Summer." Ann replied.
I sighed. We were in the West. It would be a lengthy journey to find her. Weight rested on my shoulders. I had to learn my own powers and fast.
