"We're going to church?" Me, David, and Javi we're now standing in front of a church.

"Eh something like that." David smirks when he says this and then opens the front doors for me and Javi as David walks inside. I look over at Javi and furrow my eyebrows together at what David meant, Javi just shrugged his shoulders before holding the door open for me. I thank him as I walk past him taking in my surroundings.

The benches in the church with still intact, but with some damage. There were claw marks on some of the benches. The windows in the building were boarded up by wooden planks even though the windows were still standing. There were candles lit in the building to give it light. I look over at the left wall and there's graffiti on it, the same symbol that is marked on the men's neck from earlier.

I look over at Javi and get his attention before pointing over at the wall when we pass it, he doesn't say anything but stares at the symbol.

"It may look pretty, but it's all sugars. There's no substance." There was a man beside a woman looking over something that was sitting on a table in front of them. "It tastes pretty, Clint. That's all the matters." When she finished her sentence, she noticed the three of us walking towards them.

"Ah, the brother. And who might this pretty young lady be?" She looked at me up and down before looking back at David. "This here is Y/n, Javi suggested she be here with him. Y/n, Javi, meet the guys."

The lady smiles and nods her head in my direction as if to say hello, I smile back at her. "Clint runs food production. The crops you saw, that's him and his people. Joan's our bridge to the outside world, she handles contact with other settlements." Once David was done introducing them, he now stood standing beside them.

"Pleased to meet you, Javi and Y/n. I've trust you've been treated well?" Javi looks over at me looking like he was going to say something that was going to piss them off before I cut him to it. "No complaints here, we completely understand that you guys have a way of handling things."

David smiles at my answer and so does Joan. "Thank you. We have to be careful, I'm sure you guys understand that." I nod my head at her words and Javi follows my lead. "We were just about to eat." Joan stands away from the table and points to the food that is sitting on top of it.

"Clint was trying to convince me of the essential superiority of his creamed spinach over my magnificent black forest gateau." She looks over at Clint with a playful look before looking back over at everyone else for their opinions.

"It's no contest, the spinach has real nutritional value." Clint shrugs his shoulders as if what he said is the complete obvious.

"Javi and Y/n can you take a look at that table. You tell me what you'd rather put in your belly."

Javi looks over at me, "I'm with Joan, that looks delicious and probably has more flavor."

I shake my head, "I'm with Clint on this one, I love spinach and you gotta eat your greens if you wanna grow up big and strong like grumpy Tripp."

Javi snickers at my comment, and Joan also laughs.

"Ah! Exactly! She gets it."

Joan keeps laughing while shaking her head, "Ha-ha, at least you're being honest."   Clint and Joan then make their way across the table and to a couple of seats.

"Please, make yourselves comfortable." Joan and Clint sit on the left side of the table while David, Javi, and me side on the right side. On the left side there are two chairs that are beside each other and on the right side there is a long brown bench. David sits down first and then Javi sits down beside him. Javi looks up at me from his position and motions with his head to the empty spot beside him while smirking. I roll my eyes while smiling and sit down in the spot with Javi's arm resting on the top on the bench behind my back.
