As we walk to the ice cream shop, I grab my phone out of my pocket. The messages about Alaric have slowed down, thank god. I scroll through one when one catches my eye. 'Alaric confirmed on the news that you two are dating?!' "What the actual fu-" I began. "What?!" Jamie cuts me off. "Alaric 'confirmed' we're dating?!" I yell. "What!?" she yells back. "I don't know why he would say that! We're not!" I go to google and look up the most popular news article. 'Prince Alaric Raimen confirms rumors of his new girlfriend' The headline reads. Panicked, I show it to Jamie. She looks shocked as well. "I'm going to kill him."

We reach the ice cream shop and as we sit at a booth, I open my contacts and search for Alaric's name. I call him, ready to cuss a storm out of him. "Hey girlfriend." He says when he answers. "What is wrong with you?! Why would you say that? I'm going to cut your atoms apple out and stick it up your-" "Calm down. Don't full storm on me yet. Where are you?" "Is that relevant? No." "Just tell me where you are and I will explain when I get there." I roll my eyes. If I were in a cartoon, I would have steam coming out my ears and nose. "I'm at the ice cream shop with Jamie." I say, calming myself down. "I'll be there in 10 minutes." I look at Jamie who is giving me a skeptical look.

"What is going on?" she asks. "Alaric is coming here. He says he's going to explain why he 'confirmed' the rumors." "Oh?" she says. I then realized, through all the years we have been friends, she has never met Alaric. She hasn't met any of the royal family. I give her a smirk. "Haha! You've never met him! Are you nervous?" I joke. "Uh, no?" she says, a little guilty sounding. I smile widely and we go to get our ice cream. I get cookie doe and Jamie gets strawberries with sprinkles. We pay and go back to our booth.

"How was your little lunch date?" I ask her as we sit down. "Uh.." she starts "we uh, we broke up," "Oh no! I'm so sorry!" I'm curious as to why but I don't ask. That could be a long conversation and Alaric will be here shortly. "I think that it's a good thing. We just weren't clicking as well as we used to." I nod and give a sympathetic smile. We sit in silence for a good minute.

I see Alaric push the door open with people crowding outside and make eye contact with him. A waitress walks to him and bows. I cannot here her but I assume she says 'Your royal Highness,' He gives her a smile and walks over to where we are seated. I glare at him as he does so. Jamie stands and attempts to curtsy but It looks more like an awkward squat. "Jamie, get up!" I say, rolling my eyes.

Alaric chuckles as she gets up awkwardly and sits back down. "May I sit here, Jamie?" Her eyes shoot wide open at the sound of her name. "Should I leave?" she asks. "I would appreciate that." He says. "But stay close so I can call you back when we're ready." I add. She nods and walks to the bar. "Let me explain," "Please do." He sits and clears his throat. "I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend." He says.

I raise my eyebrows, not surprised but in a 'obviously' way "No way." "Please!" he pleads, putting his palms together. "Why?" I ask. "Why don't you just get a real girlfriend? You're the prince, it wouldn't be that hard." "Because Storm, first of all, If i don't find someone to come to the fall ball with me next month or my mom will pick someone for me and trust me, that's not going to end up good. Second because I am constantly surrounded by obsessing girls, as you well know. You also probably know, I'm a little bit awkward around them." "A little bit?" I mock. "Okay, a lot-a-bit." "so, you want me to fake date you to make your life easier? What am I getting out of this?" I ask. "What do you want?" To go to America for college I think.

"I want to go to America. For college, but as you well know, that is impossible." 57 years ago, Keta and America went to war. It only lasted 2 months but the deal was, Kata residents were not allowed to go to America, and American residents were not allowed to come to Keta. The reason for the war was stupid. Long story short, American citizens were sneaking into Keta and bombing homes and businesses along the boarder and the bomers were American military members. The American president claimed that he had no part in this, but the bombers said other wise when faced with certain death. "What if it's not?"
