Chapter 30

I had finally felt more normal, I didn't cry in awhile but I still stood by Zacky's side.

Zacky and I went to Matt's because today was my 20th birthday and Zacky's birthday too.

"Happy birthday beautiful." Matt said, hugging me.

"Thank you. Thank you for taking another chance on me." I said.

"I'm glad I did or you'd be dead." He said.

"And I wouldn't meet the love of my life." I said, smiling over at Zacky who was laughing with Brian.

"I'm glad you found someone like him. He's the best one in this group." He said.

"I know." I said with a smile.

I got in the pool and Brittney was already in there.

"I cant believe you and Zacky have been dating for 2 years and you got married the first year." Brittney said.

"Your brother is one amazing man." I said.

"He is. I'm glad you guys have each other. I've never seen my brother this happy, and I'm happy for him. He's been through a lot in his life and you definitely changed that." She said.

"I'm glad I did. He's changed a lot in me too. He helped me to stand up for myself and be who I am today." I said.

"Who are we talking about?" Zacky asked, getting in the pool and hugging me from behind.

"You dummy." I said.

"As if." He said laughing a little.

"FOODS READY!" Johnny yelled.

We got out and all sat at the fire. It was a nice day out and a fire felt nice.

"I cant believe you're already fucking 20. Stop growing so fast." Matt said.

"I try not to." I said.

Nick has wasted so many good years in my life that sometimes I worried that it would ruin my life forever.

"We're gonna forget about everything bad that's happened and we are gonna start a new chapter." Zacky said.

"Right. We're gonna have the best life and we're gonna make sure Valerie has the time that she never got when she was little." Brian said.

"Thank you guys." I said.

"For what?" Matt asked.

"For saving my life." I said, crying.

"We love you. I love you." Zacky said, kissing me.

"I couldn't have done this without you guys." I said, smiling.

If it wasn't for Zacky, my dad, and the guys, I wouldn't be here today. I'd probably be dead by Nick or by suicide. I was just lucky to have someone like Zacky. I was glad to have a better life. I was finally free.
