"Holy shit, Clary. Who torched your loft?" Simon questioned as the four of them walked into the redheads old bedroom.
"Yeah, I can see this too." He informed them.
Clary picked up a picture frame and held it up.
"You okay?" Raven asked, peering over her shoulder.
The redhead shook her head. "There's nothing left of me here.."
Alec sighed. "Of course there isn't. Your mother was trying to erase any trace that you existed."
He flicked a charred piece of paper. "So that you couldn't be traced."
The warlock nodded. "She was protecting you."
"Let's see how well that worked.." The young shadowhunter frowned.
"You're alive, aren't you?"
Raven looked back at Simon who was playing with the squeaky boards beneath his feet.
"What are you doing?" She questioned, crossing her arms.
"These floorboards." He began. "They sound different in these two spots."
They stared at him.
"Can't you hear it?" The mundane chuckled. "There's something under here."
Raven watched him bend down and struggle to open it.
She sighed. "Let me."
The warlock waved her hand and the boards flew off, smashing against the wall.
She started to walk forward and Alec immediately shoved her backwards.
"Hey, out of the way." He bent down.
"Damn." Raven laughed. "Someone's being a protective asshole today."
"You're welcome.." Simon frowned.
The shadowhunter reached in and felt around. "There's something down here."
The warlock nodded. "Yes, we've established that."
He pulled out a small brown box.
"Is this the box you remember?"
Clary gasped. "Yeah.. she used to wait until she thought I was asleep and then take it out."
Raven examined the carvings.
They looked familiar...but she couldn't place it.
"Well, let's open it." Simon rushed.
Clary glanced over at him then pulled the top off.
It was filled with trash.
"Oh, great. This was a waste of time." The warlock said, tossing her arms up in the air.
