The palace of Aellia is a place the remains busy throughout the 365 days of every year.
Servants are often found running here and there, the royals are focused on handling the affairs of the kingdom while the knights and soldiers are busy protecting the kingdom and its people.
Today was no different from the usual busy days in the palace. There were heavy footsteps all around.
However a certain purple haired male was, not so obviously, snooping around the kitchen of the castle.
He carefully watched every more of the chef with hawk eyes. How the patissier carefully placed the dough on the baking tray and turned towards the oven. He opened the oven to take out the previous tray with freshly baked muffins, replacing it with anew tray of cinnamon rolls.
He was about to walk towards the tray of muffins. But before he could take a step he felt a hand pull his ears.
"ow ow ow ow ow" soobin winced
"I thought we were supposed to do this together you idiot" came the voice of a grey haired
"I know but the food is just too tempting"
"food? FOOD? You left me alone with the devil for food. If I could I would slit your throat right here and take over the throne"
Every once in a while the two princes, along with their cousin, decide to sneak out of knight training to steal food from the kitchen. Not that they dislike training, they quite enjoy it. But sneaking out is fun.
"you- stop it" soobin said as he pulled the latter's hands off his ears "where's hyuka?"
"he called in sick today, said he couldn't show up cause he 'feels like he's gonna die' "
Suddenly a loud sound echoed through the halls of the palace, indicating the clock had struck 4. The two male instantly looked at each other, excitement clearly visible on their faces.
"Magic class" the two said and immediately run through the halls to meet their teacher in the specified room.
When they reached their destination, they were surprised to see a blonde standing beside their teacher, looking absolutely, perfectly healthy.
"I thought you were sick" asked the grey haired
"oh come on can't I skip a class just for one day" replied the blonde
"you can't skip on sneaking out day, that's like losing your friendship bracelet" soobin felt slightly annoyed
"you guys are still doing the sneaking out thing?" inquired the teacher.
Soobin froze "sorry Mr. Kang" he slowly looked towards his tecaher "are you going to lecture me on the same old 'growing up' and 'being responsible' topics?"
"No soobin, I'm know you're more than capable of taking the responsibility of the throne. Infact I also know you're eager to do so"
Soobin knowingly smiled. It's not everyday he got to hear such words from anyone except his parents. The trio knew that Mr. Kang was just different.
He was the type to stop you from hitting your head on the wall when you clearly want to. And instead of asking you to share your problem he would treat you to his homemade waffles, which were absolutely delicious.
"Mr. Kang where's taehyun these days, he rarely comes to visit us" asked the grey haired
"sorry gyu, taehyun's been busy taking care of a friend back at home. The friend of his has been going through a lot"
"let us know if we can be of any help. A friend of taehyun is a friend of ours" said the blonde, enthusiastically
"I will but for now let's get on with our lessons first"
