Ro and I followed Keefe as we walked through the trees. The closer we walked towards the light I was able to make out the building better. It was some type of store.

Walmart to be exact.

The store seemed familiar, but not familiar enough for me to remember the details of it.

"Want to go in?" I asked. Keefe looked back at me as we stepped out of the trees and entered the parking lot.

"We aren't disguised as humans." Keefe pointed out, "and Ro will stand out even more than us."

"Oh, don't worry. I have that part covered." I insisted.

Keefe didn't question me, instead, he and Ro charged towards the entrance of the store.

When I caught up to them, they were busy admiring the automatic door. Their eyes followed as it opened and closed.

"We need doors like this," Keefe muttered.

Ro nodded in agreement.

"Do you guys want to go in or not?" I giggled as they continued to watch the automatic doors open and close.

"Won't there be humans in there?" Ro said.

I nodded, "as I said, I have it covered. Don't worry about it."

"Well if we don't need to worry about disguises..." Keefe paused, trying to think of more to say, "LETS GOOOOO!"

He ran inside, Ro followed closely behind.

Luckily, they didn't run far. They stood inside at the entrance looking around the building. All the cash registers were in the front and several of the late-night Walmart workers were staring at us. A lot of them were trying their best not to stare and were probably wondering what the heck we were doing.

An older man was brave enough to approach us. He was skinny and had a long white beard.

"What're you kiddos doing this late at night?" he smiled.

Keefe and Ro were lost for an excuse. I stepped in front of them and answered, "we're cosplaying!"

The old man nodded and chuckled, "oh I see. Ain't that fun."

I nodded, unsure what else to respond with. I slowly walked away from him, hoping he wouldn't drag me into this long conversation about his past. And thankfully, he didn't.

Keefe and Ro followed me as we walked further into the store. I stopped and turned around to face them, "you guys can take the lead. It's probably far more exciting for you guys anyway."

They took no hesitation and bolted off.

In different directions.

Great.

I chased after Keefe, not wanting to know what Ro would say to me if we were alone.

I caught up to Keefe and he wasn't sure where he was going. He was just wandering around, checking out the place.

"Humans are weird." He blurted out.

I shrugged, "they're just...different."

We ended up in the gardening section outside. We were the only ones out there and the lights were dimmer than they were outside. The screened room smelled of dirt and soil.
