(back to Y/n's POV)
I somehow didn't die. I don't understand why my friends came to rescue me. I was a murderer.
Setting aside that, my eyes peeled open. I wasn't sure how long I'd been out, but I just assumed it'd been a couple of days. I lay in the same bed I woke up in when I had lost my memories.
My body felt weak, but I was in pretty fatal condition when I was saved. My limbs ached a bit when I tried to move.
"Don't try to move. Your body is still in a horrible condition." Elwin walked over to me, flashing orbs around me.
I wanted to speak, but I didn't have the strength to part my lips.
Elwin had a vial that contained a purple substance. He held the bottle over my mouth.
"Please drink this. It'll make you feel better." He insisted.
He used his fingers to open my mouth and pour the purple liquid down. It tasted like smelly feet. I didn't have the energy to fight back the disgusting liquid trailing down my throat.
My eyes grew heavier. I assumed what I just drank was a sedative. I did not mind. My body was suffering, and if I could sleep all the pain away that would be preferred.
-.-.-.-.-
My eyes jolted open once again. This time, my body had a lot more strength and my limbs didn't ache when I tried to move them. I sat up with no pain. The sun glared through an open window which made my eyes squint.
"Pepper." I heard the mutter of the familiar male voice.
I turned my head to see Keefe. He stood beside the bed I lay in.
"Keefe..." I muttered back.
My vision grew a little clearer and I noticed his eyes watered.
Elwin walked in before any of us could say anything else. A bunch of orbs floated around me.
"How're you feeling?" Elwin asked me.
Before answering, I moved my hand around a bit to see if there was any pain. None.
"Tired," I responded.
"Are you sore anywhere?"
I shook my head.
"That's good. Makes sense you're tired. You've been out for quite some time." He said.
I was scared to ask how long I'd been out. But I did it anyway.
"How long was I asleep...?" I nervously asked.
"Over a month," Elwin responded.
Keefe looked hurt when Elwin spoke.
But...
A MONTH?!?!?!
I had missed so much time asleep recovering. I don't think anybody realizes I'm a crazy murderer yet. Once they find out, though, that's the end.
"You can rest more if you'd like. I can have Keefe leave." Elwin said.
I shook my head. I no longer want to waste any more time sleeping. Everyone needed to know the truth about me, especially Keefe.
"Alright, but if you do want to get more rest, don't be afraid to tell Keefe to leave," Elwin informed as he walked back to the other room.
I watched Elwin as he walked out of the room, then turned to Keefe.
"How long have you been here?" I asked out of curiosity.
Keefe sniffed, "as long as Elwin would let me stay."
I was surprised. He probably has stayed here most of his day throughout the time I've been knocked out. Somehow, Keefe wasn't with Ro either. I wonder how he managed to get away from here.
"Thank you," I muttered, then took a deep breath. "I need to tell you something."
Keefe's face lightened to bright pink. I knew he had something else in mind, which made me hesitate.
"I was... part of the Neverseen..." I paused for a moment.
"I know," Keefe muttered.
He knew...?
Why hasn't he left me yet?
"You know...? Even when...." I couldn't say the part where I slaughtered humans.
Keefe nodded, "I heard it from my mother. I'm sorry you had to go through that, Pepper."
He's not going anywhere....is he?
My eyes started to water a bit.
"Are you okay? Are you in pain? Want me to get Elwin?" Keefe asked worriedly.
I shook my head, before I could respond the door to the Healing Center slammed open. Ro entered and looked furious.
"There you are Hunky Hair!" she shouted, then gasped when she noticed I was awake, "Pepper you're alive!"
"It's all because I was there to save her, again," Keefe said, returning to his normal self by grinning.
Ro rolled her eyes, "anyway, since you're finally awake Pepper, you can come to the party!"
I looked at Ro and raised a brow, "what party?"
"During the time you were out we managed to capture my mommy dearest, so Fitzy planned a party at his place. Our first victory party!" Keefe explained.
"We better hold a party each time we capture someone new!" Ro exclaimed.
"Um, when's this party...?" I murmured.
"Tonight. You chose a good time to wake up." Ro grinned.
"I don't know if Elwin will let me go, or if I even have the strength to get up," I told them.
"He was invited if that makes you feel better," Keefe said as he ran his fingers through his hair, causing me to blush a bit.
"What about the party?" Elwin asked, walking back into the room.
"Can Pepper come? We can surprise everyone because nobody else knows she's awake." Ro begged.
Elwin sighed, "she might not be up for a party. That's her decision."
Ro and Keefe's eyes immediately landed on me. I could feel their intense stares.
"I'll go if I regain a bit of energy." I agreed.
And of course, after I said that, Keefe pressured Elwin into making an energy elixir that'll make me energized so I can go to the party tonight.
A smile appeared on my face. Nobody cared that I'd murdered people against my will. I was treated no differently. I'm glad I met Keefe and the others. I was finally happy.
