"How come you don't have any maids?" I questioned as we walked closer to the archery range.
"I don't want or need one," He said, opening the door and letting me in first.
"Really? Who will carry you to your room when you're sick then? As you were the other day?" My brow furrowed, and I cast a sceptical glance at him.
I walked past the fence gate and looked around for the archery targets lining up.
"No one, but that'll be your job starting today." He responded carelessly and sarcastically.
He shut the gate behind him and grabbed the bow and arrows near the seats.
"Excuse me, What?" I said as I looked at him with my eyes wrinkled. I responded as I snatched the bow and arrows from his grasp.
"Let's get started," He changed the subject, forcing me to follow him from behind.
We came to a halt in the middle of the wood lining, staring across the targets.
"Take your bow and hold it this way," He shows his structure and grip on the bow, so I copied it.
He looked around to check whether I was doing well, which I was, and he nodded.
"Then take an arrow and set it here," He gestured to his hands and occasionally looked at me.
"Mhm, I got it," I replied.
He took another glance around and nodded in accord. He then let go of the arrow, effortlessly striking the bullseye.
"Whaat!?" I exclaimed, my jaw dropping at his immaculate release. He curled his lips slightly, satisfied with my reaction.
"Now, you do it," He said, jolting me back to reality.
"I got this— watch me hit the centre," I flexed, which turned to humiliation when the released arrow didn't touch any targets. Instead, it went into a tree from behind.
