My alarm went off. 12:00 a.m. I looked over at Ginny who was also waking up. I rubbed my eyes and threw my legs off my bed. I could see Hermione already heading out the door. We had Astronomy. An easy elective that everyone chose. All you had to do was go to bed early and look at the stars. "Why did I choose this elective?" Ginny groaned as she threw on her robe. We left the common room and started walking up the stairs. Astronomy classes took place in the highest level of the Astronomy Tower, the tallest tower in Hogwarts, and included sky observation sessions with telescopes. Astronomy lessons were spent learning the names of stars and the movements of planets. As soon as we got to the top I instantly regretted waking up. There he was, standing next to Oliver. He looked my way and went back to his conversation. Sadly this was one of those classes where it was a mix of all years, except the first years.
"Welcome everyone" Professor Flitwick announced "I'm sure you all are tired but I promise this will be worth it! Tonight is the first full moon of the year. I want you each to grab a partner and pick a telescope, and by next week I expect a paper on the lunar cycles and the phases of our moon." Now my first instinct was to look for Luna because I never really had any classes with her besides this and Divination, but to my disappointment, she was already paired with Neville. "You with me," George tells me as he puts his hand on my back guiding me to a telescope. "Shit, you scared me," I tell him. I was so focused on Flitwick that I didn't notice George move my way. We walked over to the far side of the tower as George removed the lens from our telescope. "Wanna have the first look?" he asked. I looked into the telescope and aimed it at the moon. "Well it's there, that's for sure," I said as I looked away. "I can't see it," he told me.
"Move over stupid. It's there you just have to look," As I look into the telescope I was surprised to see the moon in the frame. "I thought you said you couldn't see it," As I'm looking away from the telescope I was startled with what I saw. George's face, inches from mine. "What are you doing?" I whispered.
"You know what I'm doing," he said as he intertwined our fingers. "You're my best friend's brother, George no," I told him. "They don't have to find out," he whispered back. I quickly backed up and looked around us. I then grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and dragged him into the corner. "Ok I listen up mate, I don't know what you're up to, but cut the bullshit. I don't know if you flirting is some sort of sick dare you and your little group came up with, but it won't work on me so you might just as well stop." I paused then looked back up at him and said "You haven't looked my way in four years then all of a sudden your pulling me into corners."
"You mean like the corner you just pulled me into?" he smirked looking at me while adjusting his tie. "Stop that." I shot back "You get my point."
"What do you mean I haven't looked your way in years?" he asked "So did that kiss last year just never happen or what?"
"That was a one-time thing and it shouldn't have happened. You get my point," I told him walking back to the telescope. "What if I wanted it to happen," he told me following me. "Well then forget about it," I huffed. "What if I don't want to forget it," he whispered to me.
"If all of you are done gathering your points for your essay you are free to go back to your dorms." Professor Flitwick announced from across the tower, "Have a wonderful night students and I shall see you tomorrow morning."
"I'm gonna tell Ginny," I shot at him but was surprised by his reaction. He chuckled and replied, "Go ahead love, all she would do is throw one of her tantrums, then forgive you the next day. Do you want to waste a full day worrying about Ginny?" I didn't want to worry about Ginny. All I wanted to do was get out of here and go back to bed pretending this whole shit show never happened. I knew Ginny and Ron would eventually find out, they always do. But if not telling them tomorrow meant having a good rest of my first week back, then I'll stay quiet. "Fine, just stop looking at me like that," I told him as we walked down the stairs. "Looking at you how?" he replied.
