I saw this quote on Pinterest and decided it needed a response:
"rule number one: do not show weakness. as far as anyone knows, you are emotionless. this has been the most effective buffer for pain I've ever used"
Yes, it may be a buffer for
the pain,
but you see, that is the
very problem.
In the end, all you did was
ignore the pain,
but that doesn't make it
go away.
Before you know it, that pain
is going to boil up inside
of you,
fresh and raw,
stronger than ever.
Pain can only tolerate being
ignored for long
before it seeps into your
veins, burning like a fire,
demanding to be felt.
Pain has never been as
silent as they say it is.
