Chapter two

2•|Ohio a place called home

Savannah stood outside the Australian international airport.The weather in Sydney was really bad in mid August.

Beads of perspiration had settled on her creased forehead.Her dark rimmed sunglasses hid her eyes from the intensity of the sun even when she looked up to find the not so mellow sun rays reflecting harshly on the earth.

Where is this man?

Her father Victor Mayers,had told her
to wait at the parking lot for him that he wasn't far off and now, look at her.Here she was waiting for about twenty minutes,mostly likely more.

Ugh!

Just then,she spotted a black SUV pulling over at a spot at the parking lot.She looked away from it's direction and let her shielded eyes wonder about.

"I'm looking for a seventeen year old girl who I think is hell bent on killing me at the moment."said a husky masculine voice.

She smiled and turned to it's direction.She found her father standing in before her in his usual style of fashion, a white t-shirt and a pair of a jeans.He wore sunglasses to hide his brown eyes from the unfriendly sun.

"Yes I have,"she said laying emphasis on have.He took her bags and kissed her on her forehead in the process.

"Hey dad."

"That's all I get young lady?"Her father joked.

"Well you should have thought about that before letting me burn under this sun."

"Diva!"he joked.

They got to the SUV.Victor put his daughter's bags into the car.They both got in and then he drove off.

"So,are you going to tell me the reason why you're coming over?"

"Oh my Goodness!can't you act like you love and miss me for a single moment.Can't you Mr.Mayer?"she said feigning anger.

He laughed."Of course I love having you around but your mother sounded like it was urgent and of course it was, having you here today.".

Savannah understood what her father meant by urgent but she wasn't ready to talk about it yet.So she changed the subject entirely.

"Daddy is Ares home?"

"Sure,he came back from London yesterday.He's pretty elated to have you here."

Ares Mayers her twin brother.Savannah wondered how he would react when he sees her.They had been separated six years ago due to their parents divorce.They saw each other most holidays but she wondered how it would feel to have her twin next to her always. It had been long since she last saw him in person.She had spoken to him on the phone and had made some video calls but still she missed him like she had not heard his voice in years. Ares had become a famous basketball player so having him around most days would be difficult but at least they would live together.

"Savannah if you don't want to tell me.Its fine.I know I could ask your mother but I want you to confide in me.I'm your dad."

"I know plus its not big of a deal,I mean... I've always said I would like to  live with you and what's better than spending a year with you before I go to college."

"Okay honey if you say so."

She was glad he hadn't asked any further questions.

"So where are we going?"she asked when he wasn't driving towards home.

"My favorite place to eat."

"What's the name?"

"Wait you will see,little miss curious."

"Okay."she rolled her eyes.

"So...how is your mother?"he asked his voice subtle all of a sudden.

"She's okay."That statement marked the end of the conversation.The rest of the drive was quiet until he pulled over at the Fast food he had spoken about.

The place looked simple and nice.

"Seriously so this is the place,you where being secretive of?"

"Wait you don't like it?"

"Of course I do. I'm a bit stunned though,it does not come across as sophisticated and expensive like the famous Mr.Victor Mayers."

"I know. Just wanted to keep a low profile,you know stay away from the paparazzi."

"Oh sure."

"Okay let's go eat."

They left the car and went into the fast food. Everyone could not stop looking at the two celebrities that walked in.

Billionaire business man Victor Mayers and his daughter Savannah.
Savannah was not still used to the stares because back at Ohio,she wasn't as popular as she was in Sydney.

They took their seats.Her father was taking the whole scenerio pretty well the way he acted as though everyone wasn't staring and discreetly taking pictures of them.

Just then,a very beautiful waiter walked up to them to take their order.
She was stunning.From her beautiful blonde hair to her curves.She was a beauty to behold.

"May I take your order please?"She asked in the most angelic voice Savannah had ever heard.

"Sure,Uhm...I would like burgers and coke and for my daughter your special."

"Sure it will be coming right up."

"What's the special?"

"You'll see."her father told her.

"Dad,I know you are always busy, will I be seeing you often?"

"Sure.I'll always make out time for you and your brother."

"Are you sure about switching schools?"

"Yeah, I've made up my mind about that."

"What about that boy you like and his sister?..."-she watched as she flicked his fingers trying to remember Adrian's name.Her father was never fond of him so she wasn't entirely surprised though.-"Adams...right?"

"Dad it's Adrian for the millionth time."

"No one cares."

"Well I do."

"I know and that's the point you love Westwood high so much,you love Adam,"- Savannah rolled her eyes ignoring her father feigned errors-"his sister Chloe and most importantly the swim team."

"Maybe it's time to move on."

"Here is your burger and coke, and your fries,pavlova and smoothie"said the pretty waiter.Savannah admired the fact that she wasn't acting star struck by her father.Either she didn't care about him or she was just too good at hiding her emotions from the rest of the world.

After serving us,she turned around and left.
The pavlova was amazing and sweet.It was like a piece of heaven in her mouth.

"Hey,daddy let's take a picture,"she took out her phone and took a picture of both of them.

They chatted more on various topics but everytime her minded drifted off to the place she called home,Ohio.
